About us

Innobid is an Entrepreneurship Support Organization registered in Kenya, specializing in Market Access Support, tailored Capacity Building including Circular Economy, Intellectual Property Protection, provision of Working Space, Ecosystem Connection and Financing Linkages for women and youth entrepreneurs. We operate across three core pillars - Incubator & Accelerator, Venture Studio, and Consulting. Our goal is to directly create decent work and economic growth in sub-Saharan Africa. Below are our 4 main offerings: Procurement Market Access: The AI-enabled e-procurement platform is the core product enabling market access. It takes raw, complex tender documents, and transforms them into submission-ready outputs. The platform also matches MSMEs to relevant market opportunities they would otherwise never find, provides AI-driven bid review and scoring for procurement departments, and includes a last-mile citizen monitoring feature for public procurement. Tailored Capacity Building: The capacity building arm ensures MSMEs don't just access tenders but can compete credibly. Training covers essentially every dimension a small business needs to participate in formal procurement markets and grow. Financing Linkages: The financing linkages pillar addresses perhaps the most stubborn barrier of capital. Even MSMEs who understand a tender and prepare a strong bid are often knocked out by requirements for bank guarantees or working capital they can't produce. Innobid bridges this by connecting its users to banks, SACCOs, microfinance institutions, and development finance grants Provision of a working Space: Innobid's co-working space is designed with the early-stage entrepreneur in mind, offering an affordable, professional physical environment where founders who can't yet justify a full office lease can show up, collaborate, and grow. Beyond just a desk, it's a community of like-minded MSMEs navigating the same challenges, creating natural opportunities for peer learning

Strategic partnerships are most impactful when they combine innovation, expertise, and a shared commitment to inclusive economic transformation. Centafrique Consulting is pleased to partner with Innobid to co-design and deliver capacity-building programmes that expand market access while strengthening circular economy capabilities for women and youth-led MSMEs across Kenya. This collaboration brings together Innobid's AI-powered e-procurement platform and practical expertise in preparing businesses to compete for procurement opportunities, alongside Centafrique Consulting's pan-African advisory experience in green economy, climate and green finance, circular economy, just transition, and climate-smart agriculture. As procurement ecosystems evolve and sustainability becomes central to business competitiveness, MSMEs require more than opportunity they need the knowledge, networks, and strategic support to participate and thrive. Together, we are committed to equipping entrepreneurs with the capabilities, market linkages, and practical tools needed to unlock procurement opportunities, embrace circular business models, and build resilient, future-ready enterprises that contribute to sustainable and inclusive economic growth across Africa. #MarketAccess #CircularEconomy #MSMEs #WomenInBusiness #YouthEntrepreneurship #GreenEconomy #ClimateFinance #SustainableDevelopment #Innovation #Kenya

  • Thank you Pamela Coke-Hamilton for this spotlight, and for the International Trade Centre's research and thought leadership backing that help make the case for inclusive procurement. That 1% number is exactly why Innobid exists. Complex tenders, financing gaps, and information asymmetry keep capable MSMEs out of trillions worth of public and private procurement markets. The businesses we support are proof that when you simplify the tendering journey and connect financing at the point of need, small businesses start winning. Grateful for the support as we push towards scaling across more markets.

There's a massive global market that we don’t talk about nearly enough: Public procurement. This is a $13 trillion market. That's roughly equal to the economies of Germany, India and Japan, combined. In developing countries, government spending on goods and services for essential services – such as school meals, road construction and healthcare – account for up to 40% of GDP, creating major opportunities for business growth, job creation and economic inclusion. And yet despite the scale of this opportunity, only 1% of government contracts are won by women-owned businesses. The reasons are many, including complex tender requirements, financing constraints, and limited access to procurement information and business networks. But change is possible. And it's already happening. Take Innobid, a Kenyan startup using AI to make public procurement more accessible for small businesses. Its platform helps entrepreneurs navigate complex tender documents, identify relevant contract opportunities and connect with financing solutions. It also promotes transparency through citizen monitoring of awarded contracts. Since launching in 2025, Innobid has attracted more than 1,300 small business users. The company is working to raise $500,000 in seed funding to expand operations. At the International Trade Centre, we're supporting the company's work with research, as part of our broader efforts to make public procurement more inclusive. Through our ITC SheTrades Initiative, we are working with governments and partners across the world to open procurement markets to women entrepreneurs. In Nigeria, we supported the development of a National Policy on Affirmative Procurement and continue collaborating with the government to validate and implement it. In Ecuador, we supported the adoption of four legal and regulatory reforms that strengthen women’s participation in public procurement, including the country’s first official definition of women-led businesses and a new preference margin for women entrepreneurs. And in The Gambia, we're working with the government to validate and implement a National Gender-Responsive Public Procurement Policy. Public procurement is often viewed as a technical policy issue. But at its core, it's about who gets access to one of the world's largest marketplaces. When more women-owned businesses can compete for public contracts, governments benefit from a broader and more competitive supplier base, while women entrepreneurs gain access to stable markets that help their businesses grow, create jobs and contribute to more inclusive economic development.

Innobid and Centafrique Consulting are entering a strategic partnership to design and deliver capacity building programmes that strengthen #MarketAccess and advance #CircularEconomy practice for women and youth-led MSMEs in #Kenya. The partnership brings together Innobid's AI-enabled e-procurement platform and hands-on experience preparing entrepreneurs to compete for tenders and trade opportunities, with Centafrique Consulting's pan-African advisory footprint and deep expertise in green economy work; including climate and green finance, circular economy, just transition, and climate-smart agriculture. As procurement markets continue to formalize across the region and circularity becomes a defining feature of competitive, sustainable enterprise, it is increasingly important that #MSMEs, especially those led by women and youth, have the tools, training, and market linkages to participate fully in both. Together, we aim to deliver more accessible pathways into procurement markets, stronger circular economy capability among entrepreneurs, and a joint model for programme design that draws on Innobid's market access infrastructure and Centafrique's continental advisory reach.

At the opening of the Obama Presidential Center last month, President Obama offered a sobering reflection on AI; saying it puts all the world's information in the palm of our hands, yet somehow makes it harder to tell a truth from a lie. This is a tension I think about often, especially here in Africa, where AI is not just a topic of global debate, but a tool actively shaping how entrepreneurs make decisions, build ventures, and compete. I recently sat down with Andrea Percudani, a PhD student researcher deep in the study of AI's influence on entrepreneurship across the continent, to unpack a simple but urgent question: How are African business leaders actually using AI to arrive at better, more favorable business decisions, in a world where information is abundant, but trust is scarce? We talk about: → Where AI is genuinely moving the needle for founders on the ground → The gap between global AI hype and African business realities → What it takes to use AI as a tool for clarity, not confusion If you're building something, or thinking about what AI means for the future of enterprise in Africa, this conversation is for you. 🎧 Listen on Spotify here: https://lnkd.in/d85ss_DU or 📺 Watch on YouTube here: https://lnkd.in/dVaQAQwH #TheFoundersPath #AIinAfrica #Entrepreneurship #Innovation #AfricanBusiness

  • Over the past weekend, we marked this year's MSME Day, celebrating the businesses that are the true backbone of our economies and recommiting to removing the barriers that hold them back. This year's theme — Empowering MSMEs through Innovation and Sustainable Industrial Development — could not be closer to home for us at Innobid, it describes exactly what we wake up every day to do. MSMEs represent more than 90% of businesses worldwide. They are the primary source of jobs, income, and community resilience, especially for women, youth, and vulnerable groups across Sub-Saharan Africa. And yet, too many of them remain locked out of the very markets, technologies, and financing systems that could transform their trajectory. Complex procurement processes, information asymmetry, limited capital, and inadequate business support continue to stack the odds against the entrepreneurs who deserve every opportunity to compete and win. At Innobid, we believe AI and green innovation are not luxuries reserved for large corporations, they are tools that belong in the hands of every small business owner ready to use them. Our AI-powered e-procurement platform turns complex, intimidating tender documents into submission-ready outputs, matches MSMEs to opportunities they would otherwise never find, and levels a playing field that has been tilted against them for too long. Our capacity building arm ensures that accessing a tender is only the beginning, entrepreneurs leave our programmes with the procurement readiness, financial management, green business practices, and strategic thinking to compete credibly and grow sustainably. And our co-working space ensures that even the earliest-stage founder has a professional, affordable, community-rich environment to build from. For us, empowerment is not charity, it is architecture. It is building the systems, tools, and support structures that make success accessible, not just possible. That is the work. And we are nowhere near done. To every MSME founder navigating the odds today; we see you, we are building for you, and we are proud to be in your corner. #MSMEDay #WorldMSMEDay #Innobid #AIForGood #GreenInnovation #Procurement #Entrepreneurship #SmallBusiness #InclusiveGrowth #CircularEconomy #African
