TEACHING AND LEARNING WITH FRED®

Each year, the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis offers a hands-on workshop to introduce academic professionals to using FRED in the classroom.  FRED is a free set of online tools provided by the St. Louis Federal Reserve Bank that allows users to find, graph, transform, map, and download economic time series.  The workshop demonstrates how to access a variety of FRED features and also how to use data to increase student comprehension of economic concepts by connecting numeracy and analytical skills.

SPECIAL SESSIONS

Other professional associations regularly organize sessions at the MEA meetings. Recently, this has included the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (AERE), the Committee on the Status of Women in the Economics Profession (CSWEP) and the Society of Labor Economists (SOLE).

UNDERGRADUATE AWARD

Each year in the fall semester, undergraduate students are invited to submit research proposals to the MEA. These proposals are reviewed and 20 are selected for presentation at the MEA Annual Meetings in the Undergraduate Sessions.

See the Forms & Guidelines page for details on the Undergraduate submission process.
