
Prof. (Dr.) T. Sadashivam
Presently working as Professor in the Department of Public Administration, School of Social Sciences, Mizoram University (A Central University), Mizoram, India.
T. Sadashivam completed his M.A ( Public Administration) and Ph.d from the Department of Political Science, Jamia Millia Islamia (A Central University) New Delhi, India. He did his Graduation from the University of Delhi (A Central University) New Delhi, India. He has contributed around 55 Articles in National and International Journals (including Scopus, UGC Care List), magazines, edited books along with (03) Two Books authored by him. He was involved in the Writing and Development of Self Learning Material for P.G Course (Public Administration), Centre for Distance and Open Learning, Jamia Millia Islamia. Also, a regular contributor to the Editorial Page of Sikkim Express-A English Newspaper published in Sikkim & News Link-A English Newspaper published in Mizoram.
Apart from that, he attended various International/National Seminars, Conferences, Workshops & Presented Papers on different topics related to his area and interest. He has in his credit (02) Two Research Projects from UGC and ICSSR. He was also involved in Prime Minister’s High Level Committee under Justice Rajinder Sachar, [Govt. of India] for the Preparation of the Report on the Social, Economic and Educational Status of the Muslim Community of India.
He is a Life member of various Professional Bodies/Associations like Indian Institute of Public Administration; Indian Political Science Association; Indian Association for Women’s Studies; New Public Administration Society of India; Swami Vivekanand Balika Shiksha Prachar Samiti; International Society for Development and Sustainability, Japan. Also, Member of the Editorial Board of ESRI (Economic and Social Research Institute) Journal published in Rajasthan, and a Joint Editor of the Senhri Journal of Multi-Disciplinary Studies published in Mizoram in the past. Currently, Member of the Editorial Board of the Aligarh Journal of Interfaith Studies published from Aligarh, U.P; Member of Editorial Board of Shodh Unnayan Journal published by Rajasthan Institute of Social Science Research(RISSR), from Jaipur, Rajasthan; and Associate Editor of The Assam Valley International Journal of Humanities and Cultural Studies (A Peer Reviewed Refereed International Research Journal), published from Guwahati, Assam. Currently, he is General Secretary of NEPASI (since February 2025).
He is invited as a Resource Person/Speaker/Chair in various Conferences, Seminars, Panel Discussions including the Administrative Training Institute, Government of Mizoram, for the Mid Career Training for Secretariat Service Officers. His areas of interest are e-Governance, Financial Administration, Administrative Thought, Indian Administration.

In this context, this paper attempts to examine various digital initiatives under the Digital India Programme initiated by Narendra Modi led government in 2015, and its current implementation status. Apart from that, this paper discusses the relationship between Digital India and Sustainable Development Goals. It is pertinent to mention that the success of public policies in India in various sectors, depends upon the success of this programme, and means to achieve the vision of New India by 2022.
