Looking back at Groundswell and our conversation with Sebastian from Andersons Midlands, it's encouraging to see another substantial contribution to the evidence base for regenerative farming. 📈 The recently published EARA Farmer-led Research on Europe's Full Productivity report is already generating positive discussion across the sector. As one of the largest farmer-led studies of its kind in Europe, it provides valuable data and practical insights into the realities of regenerative agriculture. Perhaps the biggest takeaway isn't any single result, but a reminder of something we discussed at Groundswell: collecting meaningful data and drawing robust conclusions takes time. Agriculture doesn't change overnight, and neither does the evidence. Long-term, consistent measurement is essential if we want to understand what works, where it works, and under which conditions. It's encouraging to see increasingly authoritative research helping move the conversation from assumptions to evidence. 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝟐 This year we saw more content that dealt with the question of how to advance regenerative farming in markets and flows where segregation is not financially viable and also does not do anything for the quality of the end product or to what investments achieve at the farm level. The sheer range of activities, initiatives and enthusiasm for regen farming were really inspiring - it is possible, though, that much of the conversation happens amongst a growing , but still small, number of the converted who struggle to get engagement from the supply chains and ultimately, the consumer of food and beverages. Perhaps the well populated media tent is a good sign. There seemed to be more corporates/brands compared to previous years and our impression was that genuine efforts are being made to bridge the practicality/idealism divide. #Groundswell #Agriculture #Cefetra #Sustainability #RegenerativeAgriculture

Anna Jones asked people to do their best Clarkson to camera, The Big Top hosted a fully committed crowd, we found some old and new things to discuss and we noticed more of our customers in attendence, compared to previous years. Last week on a panel chaired by BioMar UK I had the opportunity to discuss the exciting directions in which animal feed, and in particular aquafeed, are headed. I consider the key areas to watch being the advancement of regenerative, circular and renewable raw materials, along with GMO and regulatory constraints. On behalf of Cefetra Ecosystem Services we delved deeper into what “regenerative raw materials” really are, and the benefits (both direct and indirect) that they can have for Aquaculture. Thanks to John and the rest of the panellists, along with those that grabbed me after the event to carry on the interesting discussions!

Philippe is on to something. 💡 Improved water absorption and retention are 𝙆𝙀𝙔 outcomes for farmers in Cefetra Ecosystem Services. Our partner Soil Capital has just published results from an authoritative study that points to substantial improvements for regenerative farmers compared to the national average in France 👉 https://lnkd.in/dnYgFFJm Better soil structure is the 𝙆𝙀𝙔 target for our farmers - everything else follows from there.
