Today we celebrated a milestone for LDC in Canada, inaugurating two new additions to our agro-industrial complex in Yorkton, Saskatchewan: an expanded canola processing facility and our first pea protein production plant. These developments significantly scale production: • More than doubling canola crushing capacity, to over 2 million MT annually • Scaling up pea protein production, with capacity to process up to 75,000 MT of yellow peas annually. Together, the new facilities strengthen LDC's ability to meet growing global demand from food, feed and renewable energy markets for value-added, plant-based products from one of the world’s largest pea- and canola-producing regions. For customers, this means increased access to high-quality ingredients backed by reliable supply, traceable sourcing and increased production capacity. Can regenerative agriculture increase coffee farm resilience? Ugandan farmer, Steven Kakuba Kasekende is changing the way he grows coffee, to withstand climate challenges and rising input costs. After coffee wilt wiped out his original farm, Steven replanted with wilt‑resistant varieties and adopted regenerative practices: making biochar-based fertilizer, digging trenches to slow erosion and planting shade trees to protect young coffee plants. As a result, his farm is now thriving.
