Bottom bearing failures in screw pumps can remain hidden until significant damage has already occurred. This example shows how SAM4 provided an early warning, allowing Yorkshire Water to plan maintenance before the fault escalated. Predictive maintenance system for AC motors and rotating equipment.
Over ons
In 2015, we launched a mission to eliminate unplanned downtime and industrial energy waste. Since then we’ve evolved our predictive maintenance system, SAM4, into a robust and high-accuracy failure detection technology. Today we are active across five continents, helping our customers reduce risk, lower costs, save energy and put an end to unplanned downtime. ABOUT SAM4 SAM4 uses AI to analyze current and voltage signals, which provides a great complement to condition monitoring technologies based on other types of data. First, SAM4’s sensors install inside the motor control cabinet, not on the machine itself, which expands the range of equipment you can successfully monitor to include (for example) submersible pumps and machines subjected to extreme temperatures. Second, the use of electrical data means electrical faults are caught earlier, which expands the types of failure you can successfully prevent. Third, SAM4 also uses the data it’s collecting to provide operational insights, such as a real-time pump performance curve (thanks to the affinity laws) and an energy monitor. If SAM4 sounds like it could be a useful tool in your asset health monitoring strategy, please pay us a visit at www.samotics.com or drop us a line here on LinkedIn.

Around one in five of England's serious pollution incidents in 2024 came from rising mains - and this is not just a UK problem. Rising mains (force mains, in many markets) are among the hardest assets to monitor for wastewater utilities anywhere in the world. A burst is often confirmed only once sewage reaches the surface💧 Working with Yorkshire Water and Southern Water, we've developed a new way to detect burst rising mains earlier - reading the electrical signature of the pumps utilities already monitor, rather than relying on pressure or flow sensors along the pipe. It was built and validated on real bursts across both networks since 2024, and it's now live and expanding as it rolls out across more pumping stations. Chris Perkins, Head of Pollution Performance at Southern Water: "A clear signal, read straight from the pumps, is exactly the kind of thing that helps our teams act quickly and decisively on assets that are notoriously hard to monitor." Available now - live for Samotics customers worldwide. For the first time, almost our entire condition monitoring analyst team is in one place 👋 Jane Nitollano and Juan Sebastián Landázuri two of the analysts behind our human-in-the-loop monitoring, flew in to spend two weeks at our Leiden office and join us for our yearly team event. They work with our Leiden colleagues every single day, reviewing detections and validating alerts together. But until this week, most of that collaboration happened through screens. Finally putting faces to the names made it feel less like a first meeting and more like a reunion. Welcome to Leiden, Jane and Juan. It's a real pleasure to have everyone together 👏 Satish Singh, CMRP Lino Mediavilla Ponce Gosia Gniadek Bita Hamidi Carlos Armas Palmero Bas H. 🎉Wannon Water is renewing its full asset fleet with SAM4! Almost 10 months ago, Wannon Water in Australia began monitoring its assets with SAM4 to catch developing faults early and keep critical water infrastructure running smoothly. In the first year alone, SAM4 delivered several significant detections and a 2x return on investment. Now the company is renewing the full SAM4 fleet for another year. For us, it's proof of what close collaboration makes possible, even across a 9 to 11 hour time difference. Early mornings here, late nights there, and a shared focus on asset health got us here. A big thank you to everyone at Wannon Water for the trust and partnership. #Utilities #ConditionMonitoring #WaterIndustry #PredictiveMaintenance #SmartAssetMonitoring #SmartWater #Wastewater

Samotics has been selected for the Top 250 - the annual index of the fastest-growing and most innovative firms in the Netherlands 🎉 Being recognized alongside companies like Tony's Chocolonely, Fastned and Mews is a milestone we're proud of. But more than the recognition, it reflects something we see every day: industrial companies can no longer afford blind spots in their operations, and the demand for real asset visibility is growing fast. The 2026 report highlights that solving global challenges like decarbonization, efficiency and sustainability, has become one of the biggest growth levers in the Dutch economy. That's exactly the space we operate in. Thank you to the entire Samotics team for making this possible, and to our customers and partners who continue to trust us with their most critical assets 👏 Read the full Top 250 Insights Report at the link in the comments ➡️ Top 250: NL's Fastest-Growing Firms Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship #ConditionMonitoring #PredictiveMaintenance #SmartAssetMonitoring #Innovation

Last week, Samotics landed in India 🌴 Our co-CEO and founder Simon Jagers together with Harshal Mhatre - CEng MIET visited our partners at iPUMPNET across Mumbai and Bangalore, and what a visit it was! From the iPUMPNET Command Centre monitoring every pumping station in the city in real time, to deep dives with their technical and business development teams, every conversation reinforced how much we're aligned on what great asset monitoring looks like in practice. A highlight was meeting the operations team who deployed SAM4 across 32 pumping stations. Hearing their hands-on experience and ideas for what comes next was exactly the kind of exchange that makes partnerships worth investing in. The trip wrapped up with a meeting with iPUMPNET's Chairman, a conversation that set the tone for what comes next. Scaling together across water, energy, and steel in India. Closer collaboration between our teams. And a shared ambition to unlock what this partnership can really become. What stood out most? The culture and values within iPUMPNET feel remarkably close to our own. That kind of alignment doesn't happen by accident, and it's a great foundation to build on. This is just the beginning. We're looking forward to growing our partnership with iPUMPNET and bringing real asset visibility to more pumping infrastructure across India. Thank you to the entire iPUMPNET team for the warm welcome. More to come🤝 #PredictiveMaintenance #SmartWater #SmartAssetMonitoring #WaterIndustry #Wastewater

🎉 Big news: Yorkshire Water is scaling its AI-powered asset monitoring programme with Samotics 💧 Yorkshire Water is one of the UK's largest water utilities, supplying water and wastewater services to over 5 million people across the Yorkshire region. What started as a 50-site pilot in 2022 has become one of the largest deployments of electrical signature analysis (ESA) in the UK water sector, growing to over 4,000 SAM4-monitored assets once the AMP8 rollout is complete. Hundreds of faults caught early. Dozens of pollution events prevented. A return on investment that speaks for itself. We're proud of what this partnership has achieved, and even more excited about what comes next 👏 Read the full press release via the link in the comments ➡️ Tom Swain Simon Herrington #WaterIndustry #PredictiveMaintenance #ConditionMonitoring #ElectricalSignatureAnalysis #AssetMonitoring #Wastewater #UKWater

⚡ When an electric submersible pump fails, the cause is most often electrical. That's the one thing downhole gauges cannot see. Electrical faults account for 50–61% of ESP failures in published field reliability studies, making them the largest single failure category. The signature often appears days to months before a trip, while the well is still running. Electrical signature analysis (ESA) reads that signature from the surface VFD, with no new downhole hardware and no downhole intervention required. It doesn't replace pressure and temperature gauges. It covers the failure chain those tools can't reach, and continues operating for the life of the well, even after downhole telemetry goes dark. Learn more about how SAM4 monitors ESPs from the surface on our website🔗 https://lnkd.in/ec7yuRsz #ConditionMonitoring #PredictiveMaintenance #ElectricSubmersiblePumps #OilAndGas
