Expiration Fridays are always worth celebrating!🎉 For the month of June, we hit the padel courts. A clinic was organized for our first-time players, while a second court was reserved for those looking to burn off some extra energy. 🎾 Afterwards, we kept the momentum going on the dance floor, with some dancing well into the night. 💃🏻🕺🏻 We had so much fun that we completely forgot to take a team picture! #webbtraders #team #expiration #padel

Last weekend, the WEBB Traders team took over Brussels. These two days brought together colleagues from our Amsterdam and Paris teams, making it a proper full-WEBB reunion, with plenty of room to connect outside the usual office context. Team activities included creating an impressive chain reaction, and racing self-built soapboxes. Afterwards, we had great dinner, and danced late into the club Mirano night. During the free moments, people spread out across the city: some took on climbing challenges, others rolled dice in a Dungeons & Dragons session, and a few gathered around a screen for F1 qualifying. The kind of mix that tells you something about the people we work with. Friendly competition, good food, genuine laughter, and many memorable moments made it an amazing WEBB event!

Yesterday, a team of WEBB Traders joined our CFRO Jop Houwen at the FOW Europe 2026 conference in Amsterdam. From diving into tokenisation, T+0 and 24/7 markets to sharing ideas and perspectives with clearing houses, regulators, exchanges, and players across the broader market infrastructure. Two big takeaways are the way less-regulated markets influence traditional ones, and that the EU will need to step up its efforts to keep pace and become a truly innovative force in the space. Over the past few months, we’ve welcomed 10 new colleagues across a range of functions at WEBB. Last week, we brought them together for an immersive introduction week. Our new joiners explored the ins and outs of life at WEBB Traders: from learning how our Legal & Compliance and Quantitative Risk teams keep everything running smoothly, to seeing first-hand how our traders across Amsterdam, Paris, and Dubai make markets.  After a week focused on setting everyone up for success, the entire Amsterdam office came together for a night out with dinner and VR games, making sure no zombies were left unattended and no teammates were left behind. We’re extremely happy to share that one of the interns from our Summer Internship, Pelagia Kalpakidou, has become a full-time Data Scientist at WEBB Traders. With her strong analytical skills, curious mindset, and dedication to continuous learning, she’s made a big impact on the team’s performance throughout her time at WEBB. Originally from Greece, Pelagia moved to the Netherlands three years ago to pursue her Master’s in Statistics and Data Science at Leiden University. We’re excited to see more women in STEM — and even more thrilled to see them join the WEBB forces! A big shout-out to Elena Ilina, who showed great trust in Pelagia from the very start, supporting her growth and helping her build confidence. Last Tuesday at TT Connect: The Evolution of Execution in London, our CFRO, Jop Houwen, joined Gary John-Baptiste (Global Head of Principal Trading Groups, ABN AMRO Clearing Bank N.V.) to discuss how the proprietary trading business model is transforming. The conversation, hosted by Trading Technologies, highlighted how prop trading firms are moving closer to statistical arbitrage models - competing for talent, expanding into new strategies, and contributing significantly to global trading volumes. With rising competition, advances in technology, and new asset classes gaining momentum, the landscape is changing fast. Jop shared how WEBB Traders navigates this landscape, balancing WEBB’s market making and statistical arbitrage strategies, while adapting to the market dynamics that continue to reshape our industry. The transformation of proprietary trading is accelerating, opening new opportunities while redefining how firms compete and grow.
