Issue Management Consultant

Senior Security Process Owner | Issue-to-Risk & Issue Management | Major Dutch Bank

A major Dutch bank is looking for a senior security professional to take ownership of the security scope of its Issue Management process, with a strong focus on maturing the Issue-to-Risk procedure. You'll work at the intersection of CISO, Platform & Technology, and Cyber Risk Office, shaping how security issues are identified, escalated, and translated into risk insight at the highest levels of the organisation.

About the role

• You will own and mature the security scope of Issue Management end-to-end, with primary focus on the Issue-to-Risk process
• The role requires strong grounding in 3-lines-of-defence governance, issue escalation frameworks, and risk-based prioritisation
• You'll act as both process owner and strategic sparring partner to the department manager, delivering quarterly insights that shape managerial decisions

You will:

• Lead the design and implementation of Issue-to-Risk process maturation: scope, governance, SLAs, KPIs and reporting
• Standardise issue review and assessment practices across first and second line, including guidance, training and automation opportunities
• Improve dashboards and reporting covering inflow, outflow, backlog ageing, severity, and remediation progress
• Align stakeholders across CISO, Platform & Technology, CRO IT & Cyber, BISOs, SDMs and Risk Managers to ensure the right issues get the right attention

Who are you?

• Senior experience in IT security, risk management, operational risk, process governance or control frameworks
• Strong understanding of Issue Management, Issue-to-Risk, 3-lines-of-defence and governance escalation practices
• Proven track record operating as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across complex, cross-domain topics
• Strong analytical skills, able to translate issue data into risk-based priorities and concrete action
• Professional proficiency in English
