"Now stock balances are available instantly, and we can plan ahead," one district-level respondent said. Participants across national and district levels credited these tools with improving data visibility and coordination across previously siloed health programs. New research: How you manage DHIS2 and EMR systems matters more than how much you invest in them. https://lnkd.in/e5VMR_EM A new study of 285 staff across Kenya's donor-funded HIV programs found that strong governance of digital tools like DHIS2 and electronic medical records (EMRs) was significantly linked to better organizational performance. Researchers found that as Kenya's HIV response shifts toward greater domestic funding, strengthening the institutional systems that coordinate and maintain these tools may matter more than adding new infrastructure. The study's authors put it plainly, stating that "digital systems matter, and how they're governed matters even more." Sustainable impact depends on the people and institutions who govern these systems, not on the technology alone. #DHIS2 #EMR #OpenSource

Audit Vision empowers ministries of health, NGOs, and other stakeholders to enhance data integrity, monitor system changes, and improve the security and accountability of DHIS2 implementations. In this presentation, Edson Nhancale from Saudigitus shared what it took to create the app, from the 'why' to the 'how.' The second talk featured Abdelatif Abualya from HISP MENA, who explained the process of creating the DHIS2 AI Assistant, including common challenges you may face when developing a product with AI capabilities. DHIS2 AI Assistant is a Chrome extension that adds an AI-powered side panel to any DHIS2 instance. Instead of clicking through menus or writing API calls by hand, you describe what you want in plain English and the assistant queries the DHIS2 API on your behalf, builds analytics, audits your program configuration, and authors metadata for you. 🇨🇱 Chile launches DHIS2 epidemiological platform in fight against tuberculosis! https://buff.ly/Y7lxFW2 With support from PAHO/WHO, Chile's Ministry of Health has rolled out a new DHIS2-based platform for registering and monitoring active TB cases—a major step forward for the country's Tuberculosis Control and Elimination Program. At the launch webinar, PAHO/WHO Representative in Chile, Dr. Giovanni Escalante, highlighted that this is about more than technology. "It is a strategic tool for transforming timely, reliable, and high-quality data into health intelligence, allowing us to improve epidemiological surveillance, monitor gaps, guide programmatic decisions, and strengthen the health system's response," he said. The launch brought together Regional Ministerial Health Secretariats (SEREMI), health services, and public healthcare network staff—all key players in surveillance and quality data generation for decision-making.
