The #YaraWorldTour continues, this time to Yara Egypt! 🇪🇬 For more than 30 years, Yara Egypt has been helping farmers grow more with less through innovation, agronomic expertise and high-quality crop nutrition solutions. 🌱 With more than 120 colleagues across manufacturing, agronomy, commercial, supply chain and support functions, Yara Egypt combines local production with technical expertise to support one of the world's most resource-constrained agricultural systems, where every hectare and every drop of water counts. 🏭 A major milestone came in 2005 with the opening of the first liquid fertilizer production facility in Egypt and the Middle East. Today, the Nubaria site produces around 60,000 tonnes annually, supporting farmers with high-quality crop nutrition solutions. 🌍 More recently, Yara Egypt launched the YaraTera Krista Mag (Magnesium Nitrate) production line, the first Magnesium Nitrate production line in Yara globally, strengthening local manufacturing while supporting customers in both domestic and international markets. By working closely with farmers, distributors, exporters and partners across the agricultural value chain, Yara Egypt continues to improve productivity, enhance resource efficiency and support a more sustainable food system. Today, we announced that Yara North America has reached an agreement to acquire the Gulf Coast Ammonia (GCA) plant in Texas City, Texas for USD 1.3 billion. This is a significant step in executing our strategy to strengthen competitiveness and diversify energy exposure across our global ammonia production footprint. With an expected capacity of 1.3 million tonnes per year, the plant will enhance our ability to deliver reliable ammonia supply, both to our own fertilizer production system and to key industrial customers. Leveraging our extensive midstream platform and long-term supply agreement with Air Products, this investment also increases our exposure to U.S. gas markets, supporting greater flexibility and resilience. As Svein Tore Holsether, President and CEO, says: "By bringing this plant into the Yara portfolio, we are strengthening our operational resilience and diversifying our energy costs at a time when supply flexibility matters more than ever." The plant is currently ramping up towards full production, with stable operations expected by the end of 2026. With more than a century of ammonia expertise, Yara will work to further improve reliability and performance, targeting production at or above nameplate capacity. "Innovating at Scale" was this year's theme at the World Economic Forum's Annual Meeting of the New Champions. It couldn't have been more timely. The world is facing increasingly complex challenges. We need to produce more food, reduce emissions and build more resilient food systems, all at the same time, and all against an increasingly uncertain geopolitical backdrop. Yet I left this year's "Summer Davos" encouraged. Not because the challenges are getting smaller, but because the conversations are becoming refreshingly practical. We're spending less time discussing why we need to transform food systems and industries, and much more time discussing how. What encourages me most is that AI, digital technologies and industrial innovation are giving us better tools than ever to improve productivity, strengthen resilience and use resources more efficiently. In many areas, the solutions already exist. In fact, turning innovation into practical solutions has always been at the heart of Yara. More than 120 years ago, we were founded on a scientific breakthrough that transformed agriculture. Today, we continue to build on that legacy, helping farmers produce more with less and supporting the decarbonization of food systems and industry. But the challenge now is scaling what works, and that requires more than one breakthrough or one company. One of many highlights for me was participating in two panel discussions. The first, a Yara-hosted panel, explored how partnerships can help scale innovation across food systems. The second explored the timely question, "Can Intelligence Feed the World?", and how AI can help farmers make better decisions, optimize resources and strengthen food security. Both discussions reinforced the same message: innovation only creates value when it reaches scale - and scaling requires collaboration. Farmers, businesses, researchers and policymakers all have a role to play in creating demand, enabling adoption and making proven solutions commercially viable. This week, our delegation was at the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting of the New Champions (#AMNC26), bringing together leaders from business, government, academia and the innovation ecosystem to explore how to “Innovate at Scale”. Across conversations, one theme stood out: the focus is shifting from ambition to execution, and from ideas to practical solutions that can scale. 🌾 In food systems, the challenge is increasingly urgent. Feeding a growing population while reducing environmental impact requires smarter use of resources, stronger farmer support, and solutions that work in real-world conditions. 📲 Technology continues to play a central role. From AI to digital tools and data-driven insights, innovation is enabling more efficient, resilient and productive food and industrial systems, but impact depends on reaching scale. ⚡ At the same time, the transition to low-emission solutions is progressing across industries. The opportunity now lies in accelerating deployment across value chains in a way that is both economically viable and sustainable. 🤝 A strong takeaway from the week: progress depends on collaboration. Cross-sector partnerships are essential to move faster, reduce risk and bring solutions to market.   At Yara, we see firsthand that impact happens when innovation, collaboration and practical solutions come together, and are scaled where they matter most.

Roughly half of global food production depends on mineral fertilizers. As geopolitical tensions, energy volatility and supply chain disruptions reshape global markets, resilient fertilizer supply chains are becoming increasingly critical to global food security. In a World Economic Forum article, Yara's President and CEO, Svein Tore Holsether, explains why fertilizer has become a geopolitical issue and what it will take to strengthen global food systems in a more fragmented world. When fertilizer supply becomes unreliable or highly volatile, the consequences extend far beyond agriculture. Farmers often reduce or delay fertilizer use, which can lead to lower crop yields months later, putting food security at risk. Building stronger food systems has never been more important.
