Mark Parry
Mark Parry has a Bachelor of Education (Sydney University, 1989) and has worked as a high school Biology and Science teacher. He later diversified into distance education, teaching students via correspondence and online interaction. He has over twenty years experience developing learning resources for a range of audiences including Kindergarten to HSC, vocational TAFE and university students as well as adult and corporate learners. In his role as instructional designer and producer, Mark has managed teams in the development of print, video, multimedia CD-ROMs and online resources in learning areas including agriculture, technology, literacy, numeracy, drug awareness, medical photography, firefighting, life values, adult learning, training and assessment, animal handling and visual arts.
Mark has acted as an educational consultant, designing and producing learning resources and educational experiences for organisations including Rotary (Young Driver Awareness), Australian Olympic Committee (Olympic day, Beijing 2008, Chat to a Champ, Learn from a Champ), ANZ bank (Moneyminded), Australian Rugby Union (EdRugby) and The Benevolent Society (Bringing Up Kids). Mark recently completed post-graduate studies in film and video (Master of Arts, Media Arts and Production, University of Technology Sydney, 2009), exploring the relationship between documentary, training and education. Mark has recently worked on a range of projects including a role as educational developer at the Learning and Teaching Centre, Macquarie University, supporting and advising academics on designing and implementing effective e-learning.
Mark currently runs various face-to-face lectures and tutorials related to film, video, media, design, technology, learning and teaching at SAE Institute and University of Notre Dame as well as working on various freelance instructional media via Parryville Media. Mark is interested in further exploring the potentials between art, culture, science and learning.
