The Asia Wind Energy Association was established in December 2016 and has been set up to be the leading trade association for the onshore and offshore wind industry in Asia-Pacific. To date, we have over 350 corporate members from different segments of the wind industry.
The wind power industry is at a very nascent stage in Asia and there is a rapidly growing demand in
the Asian wind energy sector. Acting as the industry representative, the Asia Wind Energy Association determines to capitalize on this opportunity. The association aims to develop and communicate conclusive policies to influence the decision-making process of the Asian governments to create a positive investment environment and enable greater deployment of wind energy in the Asia-Pacific
region. The Asia Wind Energy Association will be the central agency on wind energy issues for its members and will provide a platform to interact with other stakeholders in the wind industry and wider constituencies by organizing monthly networking events, roundtables, quarterly and annual theme-focused conferences.
🙌 A huge thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday at #WindSEA Bangkok 2026!
It was a pleasure to bring together wind energy professionals from across Southeast Asia to exchange knowledge, discuss the latest challenges in wind resource assessment, and strengthen connections within the regional wind energy community.
A special thank you to our speakers for sharing their expertise and insights:
· Vincent Dolisy (AFRY) – From Wind Resource to Bankability: Lessons from Low Wind Speed Projects and LiDAR-Based Wind Assessment in Asia.
· Marwin Asksonmee (Nebbo & Climate Scale) – Future Prediction Tools Applied to Real Renewable Energy Assets
· Nan He (Mott MacDonald) – Impact of Wind Distribution on Energy Yield Assessment
· Oriol Lacave (#VortexFDC) – Rethinking Wind Resource Assessment for Southeast Asian Conditions
· Edvald Edvaldsson (Youwind) – From Wind Resource Data to Layout, Yield and LCOE: Scenario Analysis with and without Storage in the Philippines
🤝 We also extend our thanks to #Youwind and the Asia Wind Energy Association for co-organizing and supporting this event, and to Edgare Kerkwijk for hosting the Thailand Wind Industry Network Reception.
Finally, thank you to everyone who attended. We hope you found the technical sessions valuable, the discussions inspiring, and the networking opportunities worthwhile.

Accelerating the Winds of Change in ASEAN’s Energy Transition 💨
We are thrilled to spotlight the Asia Wind Energy Association (AWEA), a powerhouse partner of Enlit Asia dedicated to unlocking the vast potential of wind power across the Asia-Pacific region.
As the definitive voice of the regional wind industry, AWEA is on the front lines; advocating for supportive policies, driving strategic investments, and connecting key players across the supply chain to accelerate project deployment.
The energy transition requires deep collaboration, and AWEA is a vital catalyst in bringing together the policymakers, utilities, and technology innovators making it happen.
Join us this September to dive deep into the technologies, frameworks, and cross-border partnerships defining the future of clean energy.
