[Civil Defence Heritage Gallery Marks One-Millionth Visitor] The Civil Defence Heritage Gallery (CDHG) officially welcomed its one-millionth visitor on 17 July 2026. This milestone falls within CDHG’s 25th Anniversary year, reflecting the gallery’s role in documenting and sharing the history of firefighting and rescue, as well as civil defence capabilities in Singapore. Housed within the Central Fire Station, Singapore’s oldest operational fire station, CDHG has evolved from static display cases into a two-level gallery combining historical relics with interactive exhibits that showcase SCDF’s progress. To heighten visitors’ experience, the Emergency Preparedness Centre, which utilises highly visual and technology-driven exhibits to impart emergency preparedness knowledge and skills, was established in 2015. To commemorate the one-millionth visitor milestone, SCDF held a reception and ceremony at the gallery on 23 July 2026. The one-millionth visitor, Ms Cao Nguyen Anh Thi, was presented with a custom-engraved Light Fire Attack Vehicle (LFAV) commemorative model by DC Ling Young Ern, Deputy Commissioner (Operations & Resilience). [Official Opening of Lifesavers’ Connect Centre]    The Lifesavers’ Connect Centre (LCC) was officially opened yesterday (11 Jul) by Ms Sim Ann, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Home Affairs.    Located at the 4th SCDF Division Headquarters, the LCC is a dedicated space designed to strengthen community resilience and deepen partnerships between SCDF and the community.    The Lifesavers’ Connect Space equips visitors with essential emergency preparedness knowledge and skills, including how to identify and prevent common fire hazards as well as learn basic first aid skills. Building on these fundamentals, the Community Resilience Zone features realistic, simulated environments where visitors can put their skills into practice and gain the confidence to step forward as Community First Responders during emergencies.   Together, the two spaces at the LCC offer a holistic emergency preparedness experience, from acquiring foundational knowledge and skills to putting them into practice.   Join us at the Lifesavers’ Connect Centre and be part of #ANationofLifesavers!

[Rescue995 - SCDF Rescued Two People from Unit Fire] Two people were rescued from a residential fire in Jurong West on 17 June 2026. SCDF emergency responders from Jurong Fire Station, Tuas Fire Station, and Bukit Batok Fire Station worked together to extinguish the fire, rescue the occupants, and provide them with medical care. 🔗: https://lnkd.in/gbxg3SPS

[35th Rota Commander Course Commissioning Parade] Earlier today, 92 officer cadets from the 35th Rota Commander Course (RCC) were commissioned as Senior Officers at the Civil Defence Academy. The graduating cohort consisted of 77 Fire and Rescue Officer Cadets, including 42 cadets from the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority, and 15 Paramedic Officer Cadets. The RCC commissioning is a significant milestone for these officers, who have undergone a seven-month training programme to develop their knowledge and skills in firefighting, rescue, hazardous materials mitigation operations and emergency medical response. In his speech, the guest of honour, Mr Alex Yeo, Member of the Government Parliamentary Committee for Home Affairs and Law, encouraged the newly commissioned cadets to lead their teams with conviction, inspire confidence and uphold high standards in their work. During the event, seven Officer Cadets were presented with awards to recognise their achievements in the following categories: - Overall Best Trainee: OCT Ng Jun Wei - ⁠Best in Physical Training: OCT Adeline Tan - ⁠Best in Practical (Fire & Rescue): OCT Marvin Chan - Best in Practical (Paramedic): OCT Liew Yi Lin - ⁠Best in Knowledge (Fire & Rescue): OCT Lai Zheng De - Best in Knowledge (Paramedic): OCT Charlene Foo - ⁠Best Performing International Cadet: OCT Abdullatif Haroon Darwish Alkhoori Congratulations to the 35th RCC! [SCDF and Dell Technologies Lifesavers’ Innovation Challenge 2026] 🚒💡🤖 The SCDF and Dell Technologies Lifesavers’ Innovation Challenge 2026 concluded on 3 July 2026, where finalists showcased innovative solutions to enhance emergency response through automation, robotics, data and AI. We were honoured to have Mr Pei Ming Goh, Minister of State for Home Affairs and Social and Family Development, grace the event as our Guest of Honour. He commended the high quality of the five finalist teams' solutions and was encouraged by how they addressed real-world challenges faced during emergency operations, demonstrating the strong potential of innovation to enhance frontline response. [Civil Defence Shelter Open House at Cantonment MRT Station 2026] Some underground MRT stations double up as Civil Defence (CD) Public Shelters, but do you know how they are set up to protect the public when needed? Earlier this morning (4 July), Mr Jeffrey Siow, Acting Minister for Transport and Senior Minister of State for Finance, graced the Shelter Open House at Cantonment MRT Station and saw how our Public Shelter and Resilience Units (PSRU) prepare, convert, and manage the CD Shelter in the event of a wartime emergency. Visitors also had the opportunity to explore key features of an MRT CD Shelter, as well as picked up a few lifesaving skills such as performing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, using an Automated External Defibrillator, and applying Improvised First Aid Skills!
