    The company's CEO Yuriy Porytsky talks about the importance of artificial intelligence in defense technologies!

    Artificial intelligence has become an almost essential part of the conversation about the future of defense technology. AI is widely expected to transform the battlefield, increase system autonomy, and reduce the role of humans. But when it comes to unmanned ground systems, it is more important to focus not on ambitious claims, but on the specific tasks AI can already perform in practice. At DevDroid, we believe artificial intelligence should support the operator, not replace them. It should reduce the operator's workload, help them detect threats they might otherwise miss, and enable faster situational assessment. In 2023-2024, we developed remotely operated weapon stations with integrated AI algorithms for detecting and tracking enemy personnel. The system can: ▪️assist in detecting a person at a distance ▪️automatically track a detected target ▪️operate in surveillance mode for extended periods without requiring the operator's constant attention ▪️detect movement, alert the operator, and direct the system toward the relevant sector In other words, the algorithms take over continuous monitoring and some routine tasks, helping the operator notice important movement or changes in the environment. This is particularly important when an operator is managing several processes simultaneously, working with large volumes of data, or conducting prolonged surveillance. At the same time, it is the human operator who assesses the situation, verifies the information, and makes the final decision, especially regarding the use of weapons. The future of robotic systems is not about choosing between humans and artificial intelligence. It is about assigning the right roles: algorithms can analyze, detect, and track faster, while humans retain control and responsibility for critical decisions.     Recently, the DevDroid team took part in the second large-scale “Built for the Future” Demo Day, organized by the Tech Force in UA. The event brought together around 500 participants, including Ukrainian developers, manufacturers, military personnel, and international partners, who showcased cutting-edge technological solutions for the defense sector. For our team, it was a great opportunity to engage with Ukrainian service members and international representatives, exchange expertise, and receive valuable feedback. We showcased the “Droid TW 40” wheeled reconnaissance and strike UGV, equipped with the Wolly 40 weapon station and configured to integrate either the MK-19 or AGL-53 automatic grenade launcher. During the event, attendees had the opportunity to explore the ground platform’s interface and operate the system firsthand at the training ground. In addition, participants were presented with videos demonstrating other DevDroid technological solutions, along with real-world examples of their effective deployment in combat conditions. We sincerely thank the organizers for the opportunity to be part of a community that is building the technologies of the future. Together, we are strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities.

The system combines a six-wheeled mobile platform, the Wolly 40 weapon station adapted for the Mk 19 automatic grenade launcher, and the universal Droid Box control system. The Droid TW-40 is designed to provide fire support for infantry units and engage enemy positions, shelters, manpower, and lightly armoured vehicles.     The assault is entering a new era: robots are helping save the lives of Ukrainian soldiers. Fighters of the 33rd Separate Assault Regiment successfully carried out a robotic assault on Russian occupation positions using the HPK Droid TW-12.7 strike unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) in coordination with UAVs. A specialized technology team was deployed to execute the mission. The Droid TW-12.7 was the first to advance toward the enemy positions, where it delivered suppressive fire against the occupiers. Following the ground platform’s engagement, UAVs joined the operation, carrying out precision strikes on the enemy position. Mission outcome: the enemy position was destroyed, and the occupying forces were eliminated. Robotic systems are playing an increasingly important role on the modern battlefield, enabling forces to accomplish combat missions more effectively while minimizing risks to Ukrainian defenders. The Droid TW-12.7 is a reconnaissance and strike unmanned ground vehicle that combines a tracked mobile platform, the Wolly 12.7 remote weapon station adapted for the M2 Browning 12.7 mm heavy machine gun, and the Droid Box universal UGV control system. The entire system is operated remotely from a safe distance, significantly reducing risks to personnel.

    Yesterday it seemed like a concept. Today it is history. Ukrainian soldiers conducted the world's first combat mission, during which a ground robotic complex was delivered to the shore using an unmanned sea platform, landed on the occupied territory and used to perform a combat mission. We are talking about the operation on the Kinburn Spit, which was carried out by soldiers of the 123rd Separate Territorial Defense Brigade. To implement the mission, the military installed the Wolly 7.62 combat module from DevDroid on the logistics UGV. Wolly 7.62 is a modern remotely controlled combat module designed to perform fire missions and monitor the battlefield, without the direct presence of an operator on the line of fire. The module can be installed on stationary positions, checkpoints, observation posts, and also integrated into mobile robotic platforms. This is not just a successful operation. This is a demonstration of a new approach to modern warfare, where the most dangerous tasks are performed by robotic systems, reducing the risk to the Ukrainian military.
