About us

We believe in doing things differently. We’re more than a business. We're a co-op. That means we're owned by our members: the colleagues who work alongside us; plus the hundreds of thousands of people who shop in our supermarkets and florists, or are helped through our funeral services. Our purpose goes beyond making profit. It's about creating a sustainable Society for all. • This Samaritans Awareness Day, we're celebrating a partnership that's making a real difference. Since launching our partnership with Samaritans in 2024, OurCoop colleagues, members and customers have raised more than £400,000 to help ensure someone is always there to listen, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. But the partnership is about more than fundraising. In our latest blog, we meet one of our FuneralCoop colleagues from the West Midlands, who also is also a Samaritans volunteer. They share how supporting bereaved families inspired them to volunteer, why listening without judgement is at the heart of both roles, and the privilege of being there for people during life's most difficult moments. It's a powerful reminder that sometimes the simplest conversations can make the biggest difference. Read the full story below. 💚 https://lnkd.in/eC43HCR5 #SamaritansAwarenessDay #Samaritans #MentalHealth #FuneralCoop #Community #Volunteering Samaritans
