Last week was London Climate Action Week and we organised a series of initiatives within the studio to raise awareness of our environmental and social responsibilities. These included a range of informative posters on the environmental impact of our studio on resource use, our food supply chain, and our commitment to support the education of future generations; a display of construction material samples demonstrating how waste can be turned into a resource; and the Stone Demonstrator visit — a project funded by the Design Museum's Future Observatory. A special thank you to Liam Bryant from Webb Yates for walking us through the full-scale stone building prototype, discussing the challenges and opportunities of structural stone within the construction industry.

David Chipperfield Architects was founded in London by David Chipperfield in 1985. The practice has since won numerous international competitions and built over 100 projects. Milano Santa Giulia’s Unipol Dome has officially opened as a new multipurpose venue for live entertainment. The inaugural concert marked the start of its programme, establishing a new landmark for music, sports and culture in Milan. Developed with CTS EVENTIM AG & Co. KGaA and in collaboration with David Chipperfield Architects, the Unipol Dome reflects a shared ambition to create a world-class venue for entertainment. We led the project from concept through to delivery, bringing together architectural and structural design, MEP engineering, sustainability strategy and advanced digital design through an integrated multidisciplinary approach. On Friday we celebrated the Richtfest—a traditional German topping out ceremony—for the 1014 Fifth Avenue project in New York City. It marks an important milestone for the project which is transforming an historic townhouse into the new home for 1014 - space for ideas, a cultural organisation fostering cross-disciplinary connections between Germany and the USA.
