Very fun catching up with everyone at HLTH Europe trying their best to make healthcare better. AI was dominant when you walked around the hall, but I found people wanting to connect more than ever. Really enjoyed chatting with everyone and got a huge sense that we’re all trying to pull in the same direction. I have a long list of follow ups, plenty of things I want to do for people and a lot of new podcast guests to book in. Business is hard. Healthtech is hard. Making healthcare better is hard. The feeling this year was that it’s possible. Good seeing you Dr Nikita Kanani MBE, Dr. Paul Jewell, Dr Hugh Harvey, Dr Dillon Obika, Dr Hannah A., Raghav Sharma, Mark Bartlett, Dan Levy, Mike Trenell, Caitlin Baltzer, Huw Penson, Dr Thomas Maggs, Zoe Bedford, Neil Daly, Ali Parsa, Dr. Harvinder Power, Dr Sujitha Selvarajah, James Thanesan, Emma Fayers, Molly Gilmartin, Mark Kildea, Alex Gilbert, Michael LaPorta, Heather Fleming, Jenny Shand, Tara Donnelly, Andrew Griffith, Richard North, Dr Keith Grimes, Aahuti Rai, Dr. Vishaal Virani, MBBS, Dr Avi Mehra, Michelle Tempest, Henry Stoneley, Hamish Grierson, Paul Wicks, Lukasz Rzeczkowski, Sam Shah, Ranjan Singh - and so many more 🙏🏼

"We're expected to drive, achieve and work as if we don't have children, and to simultaneously parent as if we don't have a career..." With IWD yesterday, our co-founder, Jessica, wrote something very honest for PRWeek about what becoming a mum meant for her personally and professionally. How it rewired everything and how the comms industry, despite being dominated by women, still isn't having this conversation properly. Which begs the question... Why do we pretend parenthood and career don't overlap? Read it in PRWeek (just needs a quick, free registration): https://lnkd.in/e-dDwEUq #healthtech #biotech #iwd #internationalwomensday #culture

Proud to have been the communications partner behind Antiverse’s journey to their $9.3M Series A. Antiverse designs therapeutic antibodies using AI for drug targets that conventional discovery methods have struggled to address, and this week they announced their Series A, alongside a research agreement with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The science speaks for itself and we made sure the right people were listening. Congratulations Murat Tunaboylu and team. #biotech #healthtech #seriesA #communications

Wow - a million reads crept up quietly. Five and a half years and 270+ editions of Healthtech Pigeon later, we're here because of a relentless consistency (many, many Sundays, like this one, with a laptop open), and a genuine respect for your (the reader's) time. Healthtech news was (and still is) all over the place. We curate it, put it in 1 place, deliver it to your inbox, with analysis, and with a bit of humour. And I genuinely hope it's useful every week. If you want to start one - my advice is to care far less about what's in it for you, and far more about what's in it for your readers. You really have to earn your place in someone's inbox rather than just occupying it with something they could just get from Chatters or Claude. Educate. Entertain. Inspire. Credit has to go to all the Pigeon writers we've had over the years that have shaped it into what it is today 🙏 The 1M metric is great. It shows that Pigeon is useful. Back to work 🐦 #healthtech

Who knew a GLP-1 debate could look this good. Our latest shoot landed us on the 45th floor of 22 Bishopsgate in central London, producing content for the Reinsurance Group of America, Incorporated (RGA), one of the world's largest life and health reinsurers. A seven-person roundtable on GLP-1 medications with simultaneous photography, three individual interviews, team headshots, and group photography sessions. We dialled in RGA leadership from the US, offered live camera feeds and allowed them to direct elements of the shoot from >4000 miles away, while our team managed operations on the ground in London. 🎥 9 cameras 🎬 9 crew 🍿 1 satisfied client A very fun blend of logistics, creative direction, and tight scheduling. Huge thanks to Steve Hargis and the RGA team for trusting us to bring this to life. Healthcare stories are complex. Producing them well is a craft. We love it. #healthtech #videography #storytelling

A wonderful point from Jessica Somauroo on this week's Pigeon Podcast. Apple has the largest health dataset in Big Tech. But where does that data come from? Largely those who can afford to pay out of pocket for an Apple Watch. So when AI health tools offer personalised recommendations, the real question is: Personalised for whom? If the training data is skewed towards a financially privileged, tech-enabled population, then the outputs will reflect that. This conversation comes amidst our discussion on Apple's reported decision to reel back plans for health AI features. Catch the full conversation with Serenis' Carlo Alberto Gaetaniello, Whereby's Niki Loboda, and SomX's Harry Salt wherever you get your podcasts!

🏆 The Harley Street HealthTech Pioneer Award 2026 Winner 🏆 After reviewing over a 100 applications from incredible healthtech startups across the UK and Europe, we are thrilled to announce the results of the inaugural HealthTech Pioneer Award. Launched in partnership between AlbionVC and the Harley Street Health District this award was created to recognise companies delivering genuinely meaningful innovation at the intersection of healthcare, science, and patient impact. The standard was exceptionally high, spanning clinical research, patient-centred design, and complex care pathways, making selecting a single winner a difficult task. However, one company stood out for their deep scientific rigour and real-world applicability... 🎉  The Winner: Signatur Biosciences Congratulations to the team at Signatur Biosciences! Selected for their outstanding work in advancing precision diagnostics, Signatur demonstrated how cutting-edge science can be translated into scalable tools that clinicians can trust and patients can benefit from. Annette Shiel from The Howard de Walden Estate put it best: "Signatur Biosciences exemplifies the very best of university-driven innovation: world-class science, a rigorous evidence base, and a clear focus on real-world clinical impact, demonstrating a strong strategic fit with the Harley Street Health District." They will now receive a game-changing support package, including residency at Hale House, 1:1 mentorship from our team, and support from our wider partner ecosystem. The quality of submissions was so exceptional that our judges felt it essential to recognise four other companies in our raising the bar in vital areas of healthcare: 🌟Clerkenwell Health  - Commended for Research - For bringing experimental medicine into real clinical pathways with methodological rigour. 🌟Joey - Commended for Tackling Complexity - For simplifying fragmented paediatric care and placing lived experience at the heart of the model. 🌟speek- Commended for Patient & Family Co-production - For their deep commitment to designing solutions with those with lived experience of self-harm 🌟Neurolase- Commended for Long-Term Benefit -  For their AI-powered guidance making brain tumour surgery safer and preserving quality of life. Read more about the winner, the finalists, and the selection process in our full announcement here: https://lnkd.in/e3uwxgk7 Congratulations to these incredible teams. You are defining what meaningful health innovation looks like.
