Helping Women Thrive and Organisations Support Menopause Better

About us

The Menopause Health Coach helps organisations and individuals navigate one of the most significant yet overlooked transitions affecting today's workforce. Founded by Phillipa Jacobs-Smith, The Menopause Health Coach provides evidence-based menopause education, coaching and workplace support designed to improve wellbeing, confidence, performance and retention. For organisations, we help leaders move beyond awareness campaigns and one-off events to create meaningful menopause support that works in practice. Our workplace programmes, manager training and strategic guidance are built around the proprietary LISTEN™ Framework, helping organisations develop supportive cultures where employees can thrive throughout midlife and beyond. For women, we provide personalised coaching through perimenopause, postmenopause, surgical menopause and menopause after cancer. Our approach combines nutrition, strength-focused movement, sleep support and sustainable behaviour change to help women feel stronger, more energised and more in control of their health. With women aged 45–55 representing one of the fastest-growing workforce demographics, menopause is no longer simply a wellbeing issue. It is a talent, retention, inclusion and performance issue. Whether supporting an individual woman or an entire organisation, our mission is simple: to turn awareness into action and help people thrive during menopause. Based in London and working with clients and organisations across the UK and internationally. Learn more at https://www.themenopausehealthcoach.com

  • A growing number of organisations are beginning to ask an important question: 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗼𝗽𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸? This week, The Menopause Health Coach delivered a 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝗼𝗽𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲, 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 & 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵 & 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 at 40 Leadenhall in the City of London. Organised by the building’s wellbeing team and open to employees across the tenant community, the session focused on understanding the realities many women navigate during perimenopause and menopause while continuing to perform, lead and contribute at work. Because menopause is not only a personal health transition. It is increasingly recognised as 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀. Across many sectors, midlife women represent some of the most experienced professionals in the workforce - holding leadership roles, managing teams and carrying significant institutional knowledge. When menopausal symptoms are misunderstood or unsupported, women may feel forced to reduce their hours, step back from leadership pathways, or leave the workforce entirely. For organisations, the consequences are significant: • Loss of highly skilled and experienced employees • Disruption to leadership pipelines • Increased recruitment and training costs • Reduced retention of mid-career female talent There is also a wider organisational impact. When women leave the workforce prematurely during midlife, workplaces lose 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 at a stage where many women are operating at the height of their professional capability. And we know that 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 in innovation, decision-making and long-term performance. Supporting women through menopause is therefore not simply a wellbeing initiative. It is a 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆, 𝗮 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆. Evidence-based menopause education helps organisations move beyond silence or uncertainty and towards workplaces where women feel informed, understood and supported. If your organisation is exploring how to better support employees through menopause, we would be pleased to help. • Walking into the gym for the first time in midlife can feel like this: A dance floor where everyone else knows the choreography. Weights clank. Mirrors are everywhere. Your brain is scanning the room thinking, "Do I belong here?" Here's a secret: That nervousness is **completely normal**. It’s not a sign you can’t do it; it’s just your brain adjusting to a new environment. The reality is that resistance training during menopause isn't about looking like a bodybuilder. It's about: **Future-proofing your health:** Protecting your bone density and muscle mass. **Boosting energy and mood:** Supporting you through menopause and beyond. **Reclaiming your space:** Building confidence one squat at a time. You belong there. Every expert started as a beginner. If you’re ready to start small and safely, I've broken down why resistance training is transformative for peri/menopausal women and exactly how to overcome that initial gym intimidation. Own your space. Reclaim your strength. Read my full guide here: https://lnkd.in/ed94iUjp #MenopauseHealth #MidlifeConfidence #WomenWhoLift #StrengthTraining #MenopauseFitness

  • Menopause feels a lot like a software update… but what’s charging your battery? This October, World Menopause Month is shining a spotlight on lifestyle medicine. Food. Movement. Sleep. Stress. The everyday choices that can *feel impossible* when you’re already juggling everything else. That’s why health coaching matters. It makes lifestyle medicine doable (and sometimes even fun!). I’ve written about it here: https://lnkd.in/gni2HA48 What’s the ONE lifestyle habit that makes the biggest difference for you right now? #WorldMenopauseMonth #LifestyleMedicine #TheMenopauseHealthCoach

  • I used to think I was just tired. Or not trying hard enough. Or maybe just losing my edge. Brain fog in meetings. Anxiety before presentations. Sleep-deprived mornings. Sudden tears in the loo. And the worst part? Feeling like I had to hide it all. Menopause symptoms don’t clock out when we clock in. But in many workplaces, they’re invisible, dismissed as stress, moodiness or poor performance. Managers don’t ask. Colleagues don’t know. And we carry on, silently struggling. I’ve spoken to women who’ve been told to “just push through,” “take a break,” or “maybe this role isn’t right for you anymore.” None of those responses are okay. That’s why I created Menopause in the Workplace, a practical, compassionate resource to help organisations support their staff with real understanding. It’s not just about awareness. It’s about action. ✅ Clear guidance for managers ✅ Support strategies for HR and wellbeing teams ✅ Real stories, real solutions and real change Menopause is not a weakness. It’s a transition. And with the right support, women can thrive, not just survive, at work. If you’re an HR lead, manager, or wellbeing advocate ready to make your workplace more inclusive, I’d love to connect. Let’s talk about how Menopause in the Workplace can help. https://lnkd.in/esECTx-w

  • When you think about getting healthier, it’s easy to imagine it’s all down to willpower: eat better, exercise more, stress less. But in reality, knowing what to do and actually doing it are two very different things. That’s where a health coach comes in. Health coaching can make a profound difference. It’s not about being told what to do, it’s about being heard, understood and supported to make small, realistic changes that build into lasting habits. With the right guidance, you can feel more confident and in control of your health through midlife and beyond. It’s about having someone in your corner who listens to you, understands your unique challenges and walks alongside you as you take small steps towards lasting change. As The Menopause Health Coach, I bring a compassionate, empowering approach to every session. My focus is always on you as a whole person, not just your symptoms. Together, we look at what’s realistic and achievable for your life right now. If you’re ready to feel supported, understood and empowered in your midlife health journey, I’d love to help. • There’s absolutely nothing to be ashamed of when seeking support, just ask Serena Williams, who courageously shared how GLP-1 medication helped her reconnect with herself after childbirth. Despite her legendary fitness, traditional approaches weren’t enough and she chose a path that honoured her body’s needs and her story shows that sometimes, help is exactly what we need. As the menopause health coach, I’m here to walk alongside you on the medication journey and gently guide you during your journey and when it’s time to transition off it. Real health, real support, no shame. You deserve that. https://lnkd.in/dja_iBVS ✨ If you’d like support on your own journey, let’s connect—I’d love to help. https://lnkd.in/eYuB9Prr https://lnkd.in/eMJ6uKbD

  • “Where did THAT come from?” The rage no one talks about... especially at work. You’re calm and capable… until the smallest thing tips you over: 🚲 A Lime bike’s blocking your path 🥛 The milk’s gone and no one said a word 🗣️ A colleague’s tone It feels instant, overwhelming...and it’s not who you are. Here’s what’s happening: During peri- and menopause, falling oestrogen and progesterone affect serotonin and GABA, brain chemicals that help regulate mood and stress. This lowers your emotional “buffer,” making everyday irritations feel intense. It’s not you being ‘difficult’. It’s your brain and body adapting to a major hormonal shift. Why this matters at work: Mood changes can affect communication, confidence and decision-making. Yet many women feel they have to hide it. The good news? You can rebuild your emotional buffer. Small, daily steps, like balancing blood sugar, improving sleep, movement and short calming resets, can reduce flare-ups. If you’ve noticed changes in your patience or reactions lately, you’re not alone. 💡 I’ve created a free “Menopause Mood Reset” checklist. Comment MOOD and I’ll send it your way. https://lnkd.in/ePM2Y3cb
