  • Last week reminded me why The Quantum Index matters. We brought leaders from across the quantum world together for a VIP dinner, but here is what made it different. This was not a room full of physicists talking to physicists. We put the focus on the users. The people actually putting quantum machines, algorithms, and the wider ecosystem to work to solve real problems and create real value. That is the heart of what The Quantum Index does. It connects the people building quantum with the industries adopting it, and it spotlights the commercial work that is already moving from theory to impact. Great conversations, great food, and a clear signal that quantum is becoming a business conversation, not just a research one. Huge thanks to Evan Kubes at Resonance, Steve Suarez® at HorizonX and Jonathan W. at The Quantum Index for organizing everything and making the night happen at the Harvard Club of Boston See the work we are tracking here: https://lnkd.in/dnaqb4Qa Reach out if you want to learn more. #TheQuantumIndex #QuantumLeaders Quantum.Tech

Spent last week at Quantum.Tech in Boston, where I had the privilege of speaking alongside Kristin Milchanowski, Ph.D. (BMO), Peter Lemke (BP), and Charles Beyrouthy (Forma Prime). Afterward, I hosted a private dinner at the Harvard Club of Boston with Steve Suarez® . For years, the standing knock on quantum events has been that they're "Q2Q" — quantum people talking to quantum people. So it was something to look around a room of 30+ enterprise end users and realize how much the conversation has shifted. Nearly eight years on from my first Q2B conference, the growth is hard to overstate. Thanks to everyone who came out - especially Peter Shor! Picture this: I’m on stage at Quantum.Tech, for the keynote alongside Peter Shor—the father of quantum computing and creator of Shor’s algorithm—and the amazing Will Oliver from MIT. It’s not every day you get to share that stage! And yes, I snapped a selfie with Peter, Will, and the entire quantum.tech audience behind us. Moments like these make the journey extraordinary. The future of quantum is full of possibilities, and being part of this conversation is truly an honor. If you can spot yourself in the selfie, drop a 👋 in the comments below! #QuantumComputing #qt26

Next week London becomes the centre of the quantum conversation, and I cannot wait. I will be at The Economist Enterprise's 5th annual Commercialising Quantum Global on June 16th and 17th, moderating two panels that sit at opposite ends of the quantum story. The first is on scaling quantum startups and surviving the capital desert. Deep-tech ventures must outlast long research cycles before revenue arrives. How do founders balance technical ambition with commercial discipline? Do corporate partnerships scale innovation or distract from it? The companies that survive the research phase will lead the market. The second is a thought experiment on QDay. If a quantum computer capable of breaking public-key encryption were unveiled tomorrow, how quickly could the world respond? Most organisations have not examined their cryptographic systems, let alone mapped a migration plan. This session will get uncomfortable, and it should. And there is more. On June 15th HorizonX launches the next cohort of the MIT xPRO course Quantum Computing: Strategy and Impact, built for leaders who want to understand what quantum means for their business today, not in some distant future. Link in the comments. 👇 If you are in London for the event, come find me. The best conversations always happen between the sessions. Thanks to Helen Ponsford & Laura Chandler #QuantumComputing #EconQuantum

  • The Quantum Index is proud to sponsor Quantum.Tech World 2026. This is where the real work in quantum technology is happening. Not theory. Not hype. Just execution. Quantum.Tech brings the complete ecosystem together. Enterprise leaders, government officials, researchers, and builders are all in one room. The focus is entirely on moving quantum out of the lab and into real world impact. From quantum computing to sensing and security, the conversations are shifting. The question is no longer if this technology will arrive. The question is how to use it. This shift is exactly why The Quantum Index is so important right now. As the quantum industry matures, decision makers need reliable data to cut through the noise. The platform tracks, benchmarks, and analyzes the market so leaders have a clear view of the landscape. It provides the hard insights they need to invest, partner, and build with absolute confidence.

Today was a special night for the quantum community in London. Attending the London premiere of Our Quantum Future at BAFTA was a reminder of how far this industry has come and how much momentum is building around quantum technologies. It was great seeing familiar faces from across the quantum ecosystem and meeting new people helping shape the future of Quantum Computing, Quantum Security, Quantum Networking, and the broader deep tech landscape. What stood out most was the energy in the room. Researchers, founders, investors, executives, and industry leaders all coming together around one shared idea: quantum is moving from the lab into real-world impact. The conversations throughout the evening reinforced something I continue to believe strongly. The organizations preparing now will be the ones best positioned for the future. A big congratulations to Evan Kubes, Alex C., and the entire team at The Quantum Insider for bringing this together and continuing to help educate and connect the global quantum ecosystem. Excited to see where these conversations lead next. #OurQuantumFuture #QuantumComputing

Quantum Day brought a nice surprise. I was pleased to see Forbes include The Quantum Index in Sandy Carter’s article, "Happy Quantum Day: The AI Leaders' Guide to Quantum Computing in 2026." What stood out to me most is not the mention itself. It is that more people are starting to talk seriously about where quantum may become relevant, especially alongside AI. We are still early. A lot of quantum computing remains in the research stage, and there is still too much noise in the market. But that is exactly why clear, practical conversations matter. Leaders do not need to have all the answers today. They do need to start building a basic understanding of where quantum could affect their industry, their security, and their long term strategy. Thank you to Sandy Carter for putting together a thoughtful piece and helping make a complex topic more accessible. How are you thinking about quantum right now: as something to watch, something to learn, or something to act on? ♻️ Share this post if it speaks to you, and follow me for more.
