What happens when a space is shaped by its community? We recently partnered with Venice Beach FC to bring its clubhouse and retail space to life, capturing the culture, energy and openness at the heart of the club. With the 2026 World Cup bringing renewed attention to football culture across the US, the space creates a home for a community that has grown from the streets of Venice Beach into a wider football and cultural platform. Founded on the belief that "if you show up, you get a game," VBFC creates opportunities for local youth, players, artists and creators to connect through sport and help shape the culture around it. For us, this is what future-proofed design looks like. Rather than fixing a space around a single use or moment in time, we designed the clubhouse to flex and grow alongside its community, adapting from match days and workshops to events, gatherings and moments of connection. It's a space that doesn't try to engineer belonging, but simply gives people the tools and freedom to generate their own, on their terms. More than a retail destination, the clubhouse acts as a hub for participation, and self-expression; showcasing that the most resilient spaces aren't just designed for communities, they're shaped by them.
