Juliana Renn, head of sustainability at HLM Architects, makes the case for regenerative design For the last few years, the built environment has been on a determined journey towards net zero. This has driven better buildings, improved energy performance, reduced operational carbon, and made sustainability a mainstream design priority. It’s clear to me, however, that the direction of travel has already transitioned sustainability from differentiator to baseline expectation. https://lnkd.in/eHV2FPuX #NetZero #Sustainability #BuiltEnvironment #SustainableConstruction #Architecture #ClimateAction #GreenBuilding #DesignInnovation

The UK’s Cyber Security and Resilience Bill risks failing its objectives unless the government tackles a deepening skills gap, according to a new report. The report, The UK Cyber Skills Gap: Building Capability and Resilience, was published this month by The CSBR. It found that while the UK has built a solid foundation of cyber initiatives, an unstable “hourglass” labour market structure, combined with expanding regulatory burdens, threatens to undermine genuine digital resilience across critical national infrastructure. https://lnkd.in/eNVMekuP #CyberSecurity #CyberResilience #CyberSkillsGap #DigitalSkills #DigitalResilience #UKConstruction #BuiltEnvironment

A 400-metre sewer has been installed beneath a railway line and the river Sile in Treviso, Italy, using microtunnelling technology at a depth of 11 metres. The DN 800 pipeline was constructed for ATS, the local water company, by contractor LF Costruzioni, with ENKI acting as consultant.
