Game consoles have become ubiquitous, not only for gaming but also as media servers, internet gat... more Game consoles have become ubiquitous, not only for gaming but also as media servers, internet gateways etc. In combination with online networks, consoles feature online gaming in an unprecedented fashion. To participate in the networks and to personalize the services offered, the providers collect, process and forward personal information. This puts user privacy at risk. In this work we analyze the privacy policies of the online networks Playstation-Network, Xbox-Live and Wii, the three major providers.

We present an interactive eye gaze model for embodied conversational agents in order to improve the experience of users participating in Interactive Storytelling. The underlying narrative in which the approach was tested is based on a classical XIX th century psychological novel: Madame Bovary, by Flaubert.

Abstract Attentive user interfaces (AUIs) capitalize on the rich information that can be obtained... more Abstract Attentive user interfaces (AUIs) capitalize on the rich information that can be obtained from users' gaze behavior in order to infer relevant aspects of their cognitive state. Not only is eye gaze an excellent clue to states of interest and intention, but also to preference and confidence in comprehension. AUIs are built with the aim of adapting the interface to the user's current information need, and thus reduce workload of interaction.

In this paper we present results of a user study that we conducted with 21 subjects to investigat... more In this paper we present results of a user study that we conducted with 21 subjects to investigate whether initial user trust is accompanied by unconscious bodily responses which enable more objective measurements than user reports. In particular, we recorded the user's eye gaze and heart rate to evaluate whether users respond differently when interacting with a web page that is supposed to build initial trust as opposed to a web page that lacks this capability.

Such interactions help visualize and analyze theoretical findings and assumptions in key sociological domains. However, most computer applications that simulate agent behavior lack the flexibility and adaptability researchers need to visualize theoretical concepts. This shortcoming can also be observed in modern computer games.

It integrates the different lines of technological advancements within the project DynaLearn, and details the plans to be carried out in work packages 3, 4 and 5. This research proposes an interactive presentation system that employs eye gaze as an intuitive and unobtrusive input modality. Attentive behavior is an excellent clue to users'(visual) interest and preference. By analyzing and interpreting human eye movements in realtime, the interface can adapt to the current interest of the user and provide a more personalized or 'attentive'experience of the presentation to the user.
