I am a Neoplatonist, historian of ancient philosophy, metaphysician of the person, orientalist and Anagogist theologian.
I graduated and earned a PhD in Philosophy at the Catholic University of Milan, specializing in the History of Ancient Philosophy, especially Neoplatonism, and theoretically in metaphysics (especially of the person) and alethic logic.
Aiming at extending my specialization to Christian Neoplatonism of the Patristic, Byzantine, Medieval, and Renaissance periods, I studied systematic or dogmatic theology, fundamental theology, spiritual or mystical theology, anagogical theology, and Eastern theologies (Byzantine, Russian, Coptic and Syriac).
Similarly, in order to extend my specialization to Medieval Jewish and Islamic Neoplatonism, I studied the languages and writings (starting with hieroglyphic and cuneiform ones), religions and wisdom literatures of the cultures of the ancient Near East, especially Egyptian, Mesopotamian, Anatolian and Iranian, as well as Hellenistic religions (Isis-Osiris mysteries, Hermeticism, Chaldean Oracles, Gnosticism and Manichaeism), Second Temple Judaism (primarily Philo of Alexandria) and finally Eastern philosophies (Judaic, Islamic, Indian and Chinese).
My study of Eastern civilizations, their cultural memory and the synontology of the Lyon-born theologian Jules Monchanin led me to broaden my education to include philosophy of religion and philosophy of the human and social sciences, with their related disciplines: psychology, especially that of personality, individual differences and groups; history of sociological thought; sociology of cultural processes; comparative sociology of civilizations.
I teach “Wisdom and Ancient Philosophy”, “Patristic Philosophy” and “Oriental Philosophies, Religions, and Theologies” in the Academic Project UniTreEdu in Milan; I teach the tutorial course “Sociology of Cultural Processes” at the University of Bologna (Forlì campus) and I am a researcher at the School of Anagogy (Theology) at the Dominican Philosophical Study of Bologna.
I collaborated with the Centro di Ricerche di Metafisica (Metaphysics Research Center) at the Catholic University of Milan, under the guidance of Professor Giovanni Reale. I coordinated the teaching and research activities of the Centro Studi del Vicino Oriente (Near Eastern Studies Center) in Milan, where I also taught “Culture of Hellenized Near East”, “Greek Language”, and “History of Ancient Philosophy”.
I am a member of the Scientific Committee of the “Spaemanniana” series published by Edizioni Cantagalli, directed by Leonardo Allodi, of the Scientific Committee of Edizioni Ares (Milan), and of the Editorial Technical Board of the “Ermeneutica” series published by Mimesis Edizioni.
I am also a member of the “International Science and Commonsense Association” of Rome and of “Persona al Centro. Associazione per la Filosofia della Persona” (Person at the Center. Association for the Philosophy of the Person).
I am an editor for various journals and publishing houses and a contributor to scientific and cultural journals, including “Divus Thomas” (Bologna), “Informazione Filosofica” (Milan), “Medium e Medialità” (Milan-Rome) and “Studi cattolici” (Milan).
