A Century of Repression: Kurdish Political Struggle in Modern Turkey – Part One
Abstract:
For more than a century, the Kurdish people of North Kurdistan (southeastern Turkey) have lived under systematic repression, denied cultural identity, linguistic rights, and political participation. This article examines the evolution of Kurdish political struggle within the Turkish Republic from its foundation in 1923 to the early twenty-first century, focusing on the mechanisms of state control, the emergence of Kurdish resistance movements, and the ideological transformation of Kurdish activism under Abdullah Öcalan. It explores how the Turkish nation-building project criminalized Kurdish existence while producing a resilient counter-identity grounded in resistance, democracy, and gender equality. The analysis situates the Kurdish experience within a broader regional and international framework that includes South Kurdistan (Iraq), East Kurdistan (Iran), and West Kurdistan (Syria), highlighting the interconnection of cultural survival and political modernity. Part One concludes with the enduring significance of the Kurdish movement as both a political and ethical struggle for freedom.
This article is an original work written by Mohammed Ramadhan, based on the true story of an Afghan girl named Farzana from Kabul, Afghanistan. It explores her lived experiences, the denial of education and personal freedoms, and the emotional and social impact of Taliban rule on Afghan girls. The article highlights the resilience of Afghan girls and the importance of giving them a voice in the global discourse on human rights and gender equality.

The Popular Mobilization Forces in Iraq: A Critical Perspective
✍️ by Mohammed G O R A N Ramadhan
🎓 University of the People | Independent Scholar
📅 2025
This paper offers a critical analysis of the Popular Mobilization Forces (al-Hashd al-Shaabi) in Iraq, tracing their origins in the fight against ISIS and their evolution into a powerful militia network aligned with Iran. While initially presented as a force to defend Iraq, the PMF have since been implicated in systemic corruption, sectarian violence, and human rights abuses that threaten Sunnis, Kurds, and Yazidis, while undermining Iraqi sovereignty
