Dr. Imran (sociologist) born on March 03, 1986 is residing in Mingora, Swat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Dr. Imran completed his primary education from a public sector educational institute, he pursued his onward education from a renowned and historical institute i.e. Government Post Graduate Jahanzeb College, Saidu Sharif, Swat. Dr. Imran achieved Gold Medal in the discipline of Sociology (Session: 2004-08) from Department of Sociology, University of Malakand (UoM), Chakdara, Dir(Lower), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Similarly, he got First Position in MPhil Sociology, The University of Agriculture (UoA) Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. During his stay at UoA, Dr. Imran remained engaged in teaching various subjects of Sociology in the Department of Rural Sociology and IBMS respectively. Subsequently, he got admission in PhD Sociology at Department of Sociology, University of Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan and completed successfully in 2020. Dr. Imran also served as Lecturer of Sociology at Department of Social Work and Sociology (SWS), KUST, Kohat from 2011 to 2013. At present, Dr. Imran is working as Assistant Professor of Sociology and In-Charge, Department of Social and Gender Studies, Main Campus, Charbagh, University of Swat (UoS), Swat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Dr. Imran remained Member of the Senate, University of Malakand,

Stunting growth among children is one of the imperative health concerns for the global world. The... more Stunting growth among children is one of the imperative health concerns for the global world. The paper measured the relationship of maternal, paternal, and communal factors with children’s stunting growth in Pakistan. The study used the Pakistan Demographic Health Survey (PDHS) and analyzed with the help of statistical packages for social sciences (SPSS Version-21). The unit of analysis was stunted children, and the sample size was (n=7448). The univariate and bivariate statistical analyses were employed by using the Chi-square test. The results of the study found that maternal, paternal, and communal factors have an association with children’s stunting growth. For example, specifically, child stunting growth is related to birth interval, low birth weight, mother education, incomplete immunization status, and poor wealth index. Aim of this research article embodies the measurement of attitude of teaching faculty in Peshawar... more Aim of this research article embodies the measurement of attitude of teaching faculty in Peshawar University to assess cultural impediments with reference to women employment. A sample size of 210 respondents (university male teachers with different cadres) was randomly selected through proportional allocation basis. Chi square (χ2) and Kendall‘s tau-b statistics were used to determine the level of association and strength and direction of relationship. Majority of the respondents i.e. 199(94.8%) opined that illiteracy serves as barrier to women employment in Pakhtun society, family income is controlled by male in Pakhtun culture (94.3%), households men mostly decide over the spending of money earned by female (63.3%), female ratio is less as compared to men in Pakhtun society 209(95.5%) and the utilization of savings is usually determined by male members of the family (64.3%). Moreover, at bivariate level a positive (Tb = .166) with significant relationship (P&lt;0.05) was discovered between female ratio is less as compared to men amongst Pakhtun with women employment. Similarly, a positive (Tb = .166) with significant relationship (P&lt;0.05) was discovered between undue religious injunctions serve as barrier to women paid jobs and women employment. Less number of women to men at household composition with fallacies based on poor interpretation of religious injunctions, where women has been misunderstood under the prevalent cultural shadows with little autonomy in society and economy based on strong patriarchal system, was found as major impediments to women participation in job market. Scholarly endeavors are recommended as remedial paths jointly devised by religious and cultural custodians. This descriptive research study aimed to explore how the Teaching Learning Process (TLP) affects ... more This descriptive research study aimed to explore how the Teaching Learning Process (TLP) affects students' academic performance at the secondary school level in Peshawar. The research included all secondary school teachers in District Peshawar Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province of Pakistan. Using the multi-stage random sampling procedure, a sample of 240 Secondary School teachers was selected for data collection as per Krejcie & Morgan's (1970) standardized table. The questionnaire's reliability was found to be within an acceptable to good range. The analysis was conducted using SPSS, utilizing various statistical methods, i.e., a one-sample ttest, Pearson Correlation, and simple regression, to test the hypothesis. The BISE Peshawar annual examination 2022 results were used to determine the student's achievement scores. The data analysis showed that most of the teachers agreed with this. It was revealed that the teaching-learning process and Students' achievement showed a significant positive linear association. Similarly, the regression analysis also showed that there was a positive and statistically significant relationship between the teaching-learning process and students' achievement. Certain recommendations were provided based on the findings. Therefore, the research supports the notion that the Teaching Learning Process (TLP) plays a crucial role in enhancing student academic performance. It is also recommended that further studies investigate the impact of the Teaching Learning Process (TLP) across different educational levels.

The Role of Zakat in Improving the Economic Status of Beneficiaries in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

This paper aims to explain the relationship of Zakat with increase in income of the beneficiaries... more This paper aims to explain the relationship of Zakat with increase in income of the beneficiaries in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The universe was further narrowed down to four districts viz Kohat, Charsadda, Swat and Battagram respectively. Data was collected through interviews from different stratums of society, namely, Beneficiaries, Chairmen Zakat, and Religious Scholars, respectively. In probability sampling, sample random sampling technique was used, where the sample size stood 600 (200 in each stratum). Along with univariate analysis, for measuring the relationship between the independent and dependent variables, Chi square test was used for bivariate analysis. The research hypothesis in this study was "Greater the transparency in the system of Zakat distribution, greater the chances of earning opportunities". A highly significant (P<0.05) relationship was found between Zakat and the monthly income of the beneficiaries. This depicted that a high level of increase was observed in monthly income of the beneficiaries after they received Zakat. Additionally, these findings reveal that the effective mechanism involved in Zakat disbursement and distribution, in its turn, leads to boosting the socioeconomic status of the beneficiaries and finally will end up the curse of poverty.

This paper talks about the women's religious and seductive roles, how society welcomed them, and ... more This paper talks about the women's religious and seductive roles, how society welcomed them, and how their contribution shaped society. This study discovers why women left the life of comfort, leisure, and family to adopt the holy pathway of Sangha. We also explore the effects of Buddha's teaching on treating women and how women's role as nuns, prostitutes, and courtesans affects the specific era. However, the descriptive research method analyzes the pre-Buddhist and early Buddhist periods and the ancient and modern literary sources to understand women's religious, seductive, and political roles and positions. An attempt has been made using secondary data to identify Gandhāran Buddhist art to help us conclude and distinguish women's roles and status discussed in this research. Even though women's groups have undergone different progressive phases, each phase is better at recognizing women's rights and importance in society. However, we still trail men personally and professionally.

Aim of the Study: The Jirga system is considered as one of the most imperative features contribut... more Aim of the Study: The Jirga system is considered as one of the most imperative features contributing toward the social structure of Pakhtun society. Like other facets of life, the Jirga system is also experiencing numerous impacts of modernity through education, media, urbanization, etc. The study was designed to explore perceptions of the different stakeholders regarding the impact of media on the Jirga system concerning modernization. Methodology: To examine the phenomena the Survey methodology was used for the investigation. The quantitative data was obtained through a five-point Likert scale questionnaire from different sampled groups i.e. intellectuals, lawyers, politicians, community leaders, and literary persons. The data were analyzed through SPSS (version 21) software wherein agreement indices, univariate, and bivariate analyses were performed. For assessing the internal consistency of the scale, high-level reliability was illustrated through Cronbach's Alpha (α) i.e. 0.834. The association between independent and dependent variables was measured statistically through Chisquare (χ2) whereas the strength and direction were determined via Gamma (ℽ). Findings & Conclusion: The overall findings manifest a highly significant (P=0.000) but a negative association between the importance of media about bringing understanding of the modern world and change in the Jirga system. Similarly, a significant but negative relationship was detected between the roles of social media in strengthening social networking across the world concerning the change in Jirga. Further, about change in the Jirga system, a significant but negative link was identified that media and specifically social media as an important source of adding new traits to indigenous culture. Subsequently, socio-cultural values are debilitated due to media (a means of modernization) was found highly significant with the level of change in Jirga.

The Bacchanalian Scenes and the Representation of Women in the Buddhist Sculptures of Gandhāra Art

The attraction between opposite genders in living beings including humans is natural and intuitiv... more The attraction between opposite genders in living beings including humans is natural and intuitive. The feelings of intimacy and passion for the opposite gender is an open secret, and its value and importance cannot be denied. Attraction among the opposite sex, or in other words, the feeling of love, is the culmination of all romantic poetry, folklore, and other literary works. For decades, it has also been a topic of debate and research for Psychologists and Sociologists. Looking at art history, the discovered sculptures showing human intimacy, are preserved in museum collections and academic publications. In this paper, few examples can be viewed in the form of Gandhāra art; in which bacchanalian scenes' carving are portrayed with numerous flairs, glances, and wine drinking to make them more amorous and signify discern of love in various ways. For this purpose, it is focused on the loving-couples and bacchanalian scenes as represented in Gandhāra sculptures in multiple practices and appearances. Furthermore, the key focus is to reexamine an essential depiction of women in the bacchanalian scenes in the context of Buddhist art of Gandhāra. To explore the above-mentioned scenes, in this research, descriptive and analytical method is used to extract the conclusion. It is found that, Women were imagined in all her grandeur as an appealing to lovers.

Terrorism: An Evaluation of Students' Awareness and Attitude at Kust, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

The basic purpose of this research was to assess the students' awareness about terrorism and atti... more The basic purpose of this research was to assess the students' awareness about terrorism and attitudes towards learning about terrorism in the university curriculum. Kohat University of Science and Technology (KUST) was the universe of the study; 102 respondents (students) were selected randomly who were equally divided in terms of gender. A questionnaire was used for data collection. The collected data was analyzed by using Chi-Square Test. 63.7 % of the respondents were from rural area; 74.5% of the respondents were in the age group of 21-25 years. At bivariate analysis a relation was computed between dependent variable (the level of knowledge) and independent variables (importance of knowledge on different social problems, & different aspects of terrorism). In this, a significant relationship was found between first learning about terrorism, identification of victim of terrorism, identification of terrorist and level of knowledge on terrorism. Similarly, a significant relationship was found between social effects of homelessness to university education, the terrorism aspect of identification of victim of terrorism, the terrorism aspect of government's response to terrorism, and level of knowledge on terrorism. Further, a non significant relationship was figured out between the occurrences of terrorism in Pakistan, the importance of the topic of the social effects of child abuse and level of knowledge about terrorism. In addition, a nonsignificant relationship was detected between social effects of domestic violence, social effects of corruption to their university education, the terrorism aspect of lobbying and advocacy and level of knowledge about terrorism. In light of the study findings, it is recommended that the Higher Education Commission should introduce subject on terrorism in all universities of Pakistan which would help in minimizing the occurrence of terrorism in the country.

Sociology of Crime: Measuring the Relationship between Family Aspect and Women Trafficking in District Peshawar, Pakistan

Women Trafficking is considered as one of the heinous crimes occurring across the globe. Academic... more Women Trafficking is considered as one of the heinous crimes occurring across the globe. Academicians from different discipline particularly sociologists and criminologists tend to explore the probable causes and mechanisms for tackling this issue. The main purpose of this study was to measure the knowledge of the sampled respondents (84 in number) who are being convicted / involved in women trafficking. The data was collected at central jail, Peshawar, Pakistan through snow ball sampling technique and interview schedule with the aim to know the knowledge of the respondents with family aspect leading to women trafficking. The relationship between existence of gender inequality causes women trafficking with the level of knowledge of the respondents was found non-significant but negative (γ =-0.77). A non-significant and positive (γ = .023) was found about the family members have jobs and knowledge of women trafficking. The study further showed a non-significant and positive (γ = 0.349) relationship between women trafficking faces negative response from society with the level of knowledge on women trafficking. In response to the relationship between family pressure commits traffickers to traffic was found as nonsignificant and positive (γ = .348). Where selling of a woman falls in the category of women trafficking? A relationship was tried to discover, where a non-significant but positive (γ = 0.36) relationship was found between sold by parents or relatives is the cause of women trafficking and level of knowledge of respondents on women trafficking. With respect to women jobs outside the family and knowledge on women trafficking, the relationship was found as non-significant and (γ =-.172) mild negative. The study recommends that there is a dire need of awareness among common masses regarding curbing the menace of human trafficking. Also, societal perception needs to be mending in a positive manner with regard to the rehabilitation of traffickers. Further, strong check and balance is needed for avoiding the trafficking cases.
