"The moment you open your eyes and hear the birds singing joyfully outside, your heart just feels light." Mr. Trinh says the sound signifies the beginning of a new day to start up the boat engine and head out on patrol. In the dry season, even the slightest spark can bring the vast and dry vegetation to flames. As flocks of birds return in the rainy season, intruders are incentivized to sneak in for their daily catch. The rangers at Tram Chim National Park stand guard agaisnt these threats. They are sparsely distributed, each standing guard over a massive span of land with the most basic gear. This #WorldRangerDay, let us celebrate our planetary health workers by hearing the story of one of Tram Chim’s most senior guardian. View the full story and film here: https://lnkd.in/gZ3a_YnV

This #GlobalTigerDay, let us remember that wise consumers do not purchase tiger bone glue because: 🚨 Possessing tiger bone glue is a serious violation of the Penal Code in Viet Nam, punishable by up to 15 years of imprisonment. ⛓️ Tiger traders are part of organized criminal networks, willing to deceive consumers to maximize profits regardless of the risks to human health. ☠️ The production of tiger bone glue does not have any safety standards and harbors dangerous zoonotic spillover risks. Modern medicine already offers clinically proven, legal options to support health and well-being. Using tiger bone glue is not only illegal, it is also a gamble with your health.

💚 Everything created by nature carries a purpose...Including you. Including every plant, animal, and ecosystem on this planet. Every forest, every coral reef, and every living species around us is the result of millions of years of evolution - a masterpiece of Mother Nature that no amount of money or technology can ever replace. Once gone, they are lost forever. And beneath the waters of Cu Lao Cham Island lies an ecosystem in urgent need of those small actions, though few know about it - SEAGRASS MEADOWS. Seagrass silently purifies the water, generates oxygen, and provides shelter for countless marine species, yet its coverage is shrinking. Conserving seagrass is a way to preserve an irreplaceable piece of nature's puzzle. July 28th, World Nature Conservation Day: Let's join hands to protect the beauty of our Earth through simple yet meaningful actions. Refraining from littering, not stepping on or breaking coral, or sharing a post about nature conservation... even these small acts are enough to safeguard a piece of that beauty for tomorrow. 💚 #CuLaoCham #SeagrassConservation #SustainableTourism #NatureConservation #OceanNursery The Global Centre on Biodiversity for Climate

ENERGY EFFICIENCY IN THE DIGITAL ERA: NEW CHALLENGES FOR FACTORY OPERATIONS ⚡ Today's factories are becoming increasingly automated and digitized. At the same time, there is growing pressure for factories on reducing operating costs, ensuring production stability at the same time meeting the requirements on emissions reduction and green supply chain. 🌱 Manufacturing businesses today face a highly practical question: as, while facing how can energy efficiency be embedded into daily operations without disrupting production? At the Solar & Storage Live Vietnam 2026, Toan Do Huy, Project Coordinator for the Climate & Energy Programme at WWF-Viet Nam joined the panel discussion on this topic alongside representatives from ENERTEAM, Starprint Vietnam, GreenYellow Vietnam, Intel Products Vietnam, and BECIS Vietnam. Toan emphasized that energy efficiency is no longer just a standalone technical solution. It is becoming an important management capability for businesses. The key challenge is not only whether companies have data on electricity consumption, but how that data is used to improve operations efficiency, establish clear KPIs, assign responsibilities, and support investment decisions. Toan also highlighted the connection between energy management, emissions reduction, and long-term competitiveness. For many businesses in supply chains, saving electricity is not only a way to reduce costs. It is also a foundation for meeting the rising expectations of customers, brands, and international markets.

🌊 CON CO KEEPS THE OCEAN SAFE - WE KEEP THE OCEAN CLEAN! 💚 As Viet Nam’s frontline island, Con Co stands watch over our nation’s waters. Our role is to help keep it blue and thriving. Protecting the environment is not about grand gestures. It starts with the everyday choices we make. Refusing a plastic bag or carrying a reusable water bottle may seem small, but these actions are powerful steps toward preserving Con Co’s natural beauty. To inspire action against plastic pollution, WWF-Viet Nam, in partnership with the Con Co Special Zone People’s Committee and local partners, officially launched the “Con Co keeps the ocean safe - We keep the ocean clean” communications campaign. The initiative kicks off a series of activities promoting green lifestyles, low-plastic tourism, and the protection of Con Co’s marine ecosystems. As part of the launch, nearly 100 participants; including local authorities, military personnel, youth union members, women’s union representatives, community members, and partner organisations joined a coastal clean-up at Ben Nghe area. As a result, more than 500 kg of marine plastic waste, helping restore the local environment and demonstrate a shared commitment to protecting the sea. 🩵 Every plastic bottle picked up 💚 Every plastic bag avoided 🩵 Every small action today contributes to a greener Con Co tomorrow 💙 Keep Con Co green – Reduce plastic pollution 🏝️🌊 This activity is part of the project “Reducing the impact of plastic waste on the Con Co Marine Protected Area”, under the broader programme promoting nature-based solutions in forestry and environmental management, biodiversity conservation, climate adaptation, and community livelihoods in Quang Tri Province. #NoPlasticInNature #ReducePlasticPollution © WWF-Viet Nam

WHAT IF SEAGRASS DISAPPEARED ONE DAY? 🏠 Marine creatures would lose their "first home": Seagrass meadows are the nursery grounds, habitats, spawning sites, and food sources for shrimp, fish, and land crabs from the very beginning of their life cycles. Without seagrass, these "babies of the ocean" would lose their safe haven from predators, leading to a severe decline in marine biodiversity. ⚓ Cu Lao Cham fishermen would lose their livelihood "insurance": Seagrass is the foundation that sustains long-term marine resources. When these meadows disappear, fish and shrimp will leave, and the nets of local fishermen will gradually come up empty. 🌍 The world would lose a climate "shield": Despite their fragile appearance, seagrasses can capture carbon up to 35 times faster than tropical rainforests of the same size. Without seagrass, we lose a massive, irreplaceable carbon sink. 🐢 Sea turtles would lose a vital food source: Did you know that sea turtles; especially Green turtles, are iconic species deeply connected to the seagrass meadows of Cu Lao Cham, particularly at Bai Bac Beach? An adult green turtle consumes about 2kg of fresh seagrass every day. Without it, this symbolic creature would face the threat of extinction due to starvation. However, WWF believes that the bleak vision of "a day without seagrass" will never become a reality. Because right now, WWF-Viet Nam, along with the Cu Lao Cham MPA Management Board and partners, is working tirelessly to restore and protect every single green shoot on the ocean floor. You can also be a vital part of this journey. Let’s spread the message and join hands to protect our seagrass! #CuLaoCham #SeagrassConservation #SustainableTourism #NatureConservation #OceanNursery The Global Centre on Biodiversity for Climate
