• I’ve noticed quite a few posts in this forum about users being locked out of their site, and it seems the issue hasn’t been fully resolved.

I just encountered the same problem. I was locked out of the site, so I renamed the plugin folder under wp-content to disable it. I was then able to log in, and afterwards, I renamed the folder back to its original name. However, when I refreshed the admin area, I was still locked out.

How can I fully disable this lockout feature? It seems there’s no way to regain access unless I keep renaming the plugin folder.

    Hi there,

    Happy to help here.

Solid Security won’t lock users out arbitrarily — lockouts only happen when specific security rules are triggered (like too many failed logins, suspicious behavior, or triggering brute force protection). That said, it’s definitely frustrating when you’re locked out unintentionally.

Here’s a guide to safely regain access without needing to rename plugin folders:
👉 Help! I’ve locked myself out of my site

It allows you the ability to disabling lockouts without fully disabling the plugin. Once you’ve regained access to your site, be sure to clear your IP from the Ban/Lockout tabs ( Security > Firewall > IP Managment ) and be sure you add your IP to the Authorized list to prevent this from happening again in the future.

    Best,
    Kevin
