Every vehicle, machine, and piece of equipment in industry has the potential to generate valuable data daily. But data alone doesn't improve productivity; the real value lies in how the data it's interpreted. Across the mining, agricultural, and forestry industries, businesses are shifting their focus from simply collecting information to turning it into actionable insights. Real-time visibility into fleet performance, equipment utilisation, maintenance needs, and operational trends empowers teams to make faster, smarter decisions that improve efficiency and reduce costs. Abco offers an innovative solution in the ATrack. More than just a GPS based asset tracking device, it is a comprehensive production planning tool that provides the real-time insights businesses need to optimise operations and maximise productivity. At Abco, we believe technology should do more than monitor your operations; it should help you make informed decisions that drive measurable results. Meet the Team! We're excited to introduce the next member of this series – Dan Lombard. Dan is a valued member of the Abco team, bringing dedication, expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional service. We are excited to give you the opportunity to know him a little better. - Dan, what is your role at Abco and what do you enjoy most about it? I am a legal advisor, advising regarding practical and legal diesel refund issues, and any kind of risks to client and Abcotronics. I think that my enjoyment comes across several levels. One is that I enjoy the changing environment and the challenges posed by our cases. On another side, identifying or resolving problems, and success with our cases in very satisfying. Also, it is really nice to work in an environment where one can communicate directly with all levels of management, and one is properly listened to. - Dan, what is your favourite thing to do on the weekend? My hobbies are reading, gardening, motorcycles and old stuff. - What achievement are you most proud of? After full-time National Service, I did an advanced staff course in Navy Citizen Force during the "camps" phase. Students were given a very complex problem scenario to solve, taken from the British military Staff College courses. I worked right through the night to solve it. When we received the results of the exercise, I was told that it was the first time in the history of the SA Naval College that a student had received an A mark for that problem. It's not something that I talk about though. - A fun fact about you? I am an obsessive collector, therefore my garages overflow, and my house looks like a museum. I have thousands of books. - If you could switch roles with anyone in the company for a day, who would it be and why? I cannot easily visualise this, but possibly switching with Darren and getting hold of his racing motorcycle.

We are excited to introduce the next member of our "Meet The Team" series, Steven Eatwell. Steven Eatwell is a valued member of the Abco team. Steve's dedication, expertise, and commitment to excellence make him an important part of what we do, and we're excited to give you the opportunity to get to know him a little better. - Steven, what is your role at Abco and what do you enjoy most about it? I have two Roles at Abco, I am one of the Data Analysts, Managing the monthly Sars refund data and report back of three clients that include a mine, a farm, and forestry client. My other role is looking after the aviation side and I am the Company Pilot. I transport the teams around South Africa to various meetings which saves on traveling time. I mostly enjoy the flying to different parts of South Africa. - What has your best moment working at Abco been? There have been many awesome moments with the Abco team when we have all been together at functions as well as in the air, but the one that comes to mind first was when, at Wonderboom airport, the air traffic controller asked me to use another runway with only a few seconds before landing, and I needed to make two quick turns to land on the other runway. That was fun. - If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be and why? I think I would go back to Papua New Guinea to the northern coast, maybe Wewak (Yuo Island) or Madang. Where the snorkelling and spearfishing is awesome (Some say better than the Great Barrier Reef). There are some great spots in South Africa and Mozambique too though. - A fun fact about you? I have Skydived 160 times. - If you could switch roles with anyone in the company for a day, who would it be and why? I think it would be Johan as I enjoy working with my hands too and I am intrigued by all that happens in the workshop. Not that I would have a clue on how to do any of it.

Being at the Junior Mining Indaba '26 solidified our motivation to support Junior Miners with professional diesel management and SARS refund compliance. With diesel being 40% of a Junior Miners monthly costs, effective diesel management and claims can strengthen their cash flow and finance repayment structures significantly. Junior Miners are the mid-tier and blue chip miners of the future. Fred Arendse
How do we create an enabling environment that supports junior mining in South Africa? This question was discussed by Jacob Mbele, Director General, Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources (DMPR), Mosa Mabuza, CEO, Council for Geoscience, Fred Arendse, Founder & President, Junior Mining Council, and Mzila Mthenjane, CEO, Minerals Council South Africa, chaired by Billy Mawasha, CEO, Bokamoso Gold #juniorindaba #mining

We are so grateful to have attended the Nampo Harvest Day earlier this month. Nampo is one of South Africa’s largest agricultural exhibitions, bringing together industry leaders, innovators, farmers, and businesses from across the country to connect, collaborate, and showcase the latest in agriculture and technology. We truly enjoyed being part of such an inspiring event and are grateful for all the meaningful connections, conversations, and opportunities that arose from our time there. It was amazing to engage with so many passionate people within the agricultural community. The need for comprehensive diesel management and SARS refund compliance in the agricultural sector is overwhelming, especially as diesel prices continue to rise. We discussed solutions with industry leaders and are excited to offer our services to farmers easing the burden of diesel resource management. Connect with us to book a conversation on how we can assist you.

At Abco, we believe our team are the heart of everything we do. That’s why we’re excited to introduce our new “Meet The Team” series. This series will give you a closer look at the amazing individuals behind Abco. From their roles and passions to the impact they make every day, this series is all about celebrating the people who help drive our success. We have asked them questions and they have answered, allowing you to further discover the amazing team we have here at Abco! We are excited to begin this series by introducing our Business Development Manager, Darren Mortimer! - Darren, what’s your role at Abco and what do you enjoy most about it? Business Development Manager – No two days are the same, I am a problem solver and in today’s world every day seems to have a new problem, so I’m stoked. - What do you enjoy most about the company culture at Abco? We are a true community. Our CEO genuinely cares about our wellbeing. A strong business depends on a healthy, committed staff compliment and that, we are. - What motivates you? Doing things to the best of your ability. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. - A fun fact about you? I love the smell of petrol, and any machine that revs over 10 000 rpm! I currently race a Yamaha R6, 600cc Super Sport Bike but will literally race anything with wheels! - If you could switch roles with anyone in the company for a day, who would it be and why? No-one. I love connecting with people and that’s what I get to do most days, so as long as I am needed in Business Development I will stick around!
