  • American Family Insurance partnered with Gerber Collision & Glass to turn a vehicle declared a total loss into new opportunity for an active-duty military service member through the NABC Recycled Rides program. For this gift, the nonprofit partner was Stand Down Madison, whose mission is to connect veterans experiencing, or at risk of homelessness, with a wide variety of essential services. Stand Down Madison helped identify the recipient, who supports veterans as a regular volunteer with the organization, while balancing active-duty service in the Air National Guard and being a University of Wisconsin-Madison student, all while raising three children as a single father. The vehicle was presented at a Milwaukee Brewers game at American Family Field. Learn more about this story and the Recycled Rides program: https://lnkd.in/gDX-SS_M

  • When an EF-3 tornado struck Ringle, Wisconsin, American Family Insurance agency owner Steve Norrington experienced the storm not only as an agency owner, but as an affected homeowner. That experience gave Steve an even deeper understanding of what recovery looks like for customers and strengthened his commitment to helping them move forward. In the middle of personal loss, Steve focused on how he could better serve others. Stories like Steve’s are a powerful reminder of resilience during difficult moments and the difference agency owners make in their communities. This is what it means to inspire, protect and restore dreams. When the unexpected happens, American Family agency owners and Claims teams work side by side to support customers through recovery with care and guidance, helping them rebuild and restore.

  • Opening day at Summerfest, presented by American Family Insurance, is in the books, and Milwaukee’s lakefront delivered the perfect sunny kickoff to the world’s largest music festival. At the American Family Insurance House, our iconic red roofline welcomed fans for up close performances from artists also appearing on the festival’s biggest stages. On opening day, the House packed in fans for performances by Stephen Jenkins of Third Eye Blind and Passion Pit. Visitors also enjoyed customizing fanny packs and bucket hats, snapping photo booth memories, taking in rooftop views, and relaxing in the backyard space. We are also proud to share that we recently renewed our multi-year partnership with Milwaukee World Festival, Inc., continuing as presenting sponsor of Summerfest and supporting the American Family Insurance Amphitheater, the American Family Insurance House, and our community impact through the Let the Music Play Grant Program, which helps extend music based learning through support for nonprofits and schools. We also love seeing local groups like Grace Weber’s Music Lab and Ko-Thi Dance Company take the House stage as part of this work. If you are heading to the grounds, the American Family Insurance House is free and open to the public, located near the Mid-Gate fountain and open daily from 12 to 8 p.m. Summerfest continues June 19-20, June 25-27, and July 2-4. • In response to severe weather in Wisconsin, American Family Insurance claims teams are moving quickly to support customers, including mobilizing drive-in sites in Madison. Multiple rounds of storms brought tornadoes, damaging winds, heavy rain and large hail, causing damage across the area. We've mobilized mobile drive-in sites to meet customers where they are, providing answers and support to help with recovery when the unexpected happens. Field catastrophe adjusters are also working alongside local claims employees to connect with customers, help expedite claims handling and coordinate inspections.   Thank you to our claims staff for their work supporting customers when they need it most.

  • American Family Insurance employees in our Madison, Wisconsin office recently came together to assemble “Joy Kits” to support our community, one snack pack at a time.   In partnership with the American Family Insurance Dreams Foundation and United Way of Dane County, employees from various teams showed up to support three volunteer events assembling 10,000 snack packs filled with healthy food. The snack packs will benefit children and families served by local food pantries, schools in the Madison Metropolitan School District, and local libraries.   Thank you to our employees who volunteered. Through our shared passion for giving back, we can help strengthen our communities in ways that make a real, lasting impact.
