  • For Zak Clay and his mom, Jaime Foster, an accessible van changed what daily life could look like. Before receiving support from the ATI Foundation, getting in and out of a regular car was physically difficult for both Zak and Jaime. The process affected Zak’s knees and body, and it placed strain on Jaime’s back. With the van, transportation became easier, smoother, and more accessible. Zak could get on the ramp, get settled, and get on the road with less hassle. That opened the door to more school events, more football games, and even a homecoming moment he will never forget. Stories like Zak’s reflect the impact of the ATI Foundation and its mission to help improve the lives of people with physical impairments. By helping remove barriers, the ATI Foundation supports greater independence, access, and opportunity for families who need it most. His advice centers on gradual progression, walk-run intervals, recovery, strength work, and recognizing when the body may need more time to adapt. For anyone building a new running routine, the goal is not to rush the transition. It is to create a plan your body can tolerate and sustain. • Travel PT can offer new places, new patients, and new experiences. For fiancés Adam Haltiwanger and Daniella Torres, it also offered something just as important: consistency. Through ATI’s Passport Explorer Program, Adam and Daniella have spent the last three years traveling together on assignments, building their clinical skill sets, and experiencing different cities, clinics, coworkers, and patient populations. Starting travel PT right after school can feel intimidating, but staying with ATI gave Adam and Daniella a steady foundation. Familiar systems, clear expectations, supportive teams, and a consistent standard of care across assignments helped make each new location feel more approachable. Their story reflects how ATI has prioritized clinician growth for 30 years through opportunity, flexibility, and connection.
