Our CEO and President, Heather Rosentrater, was honored to join regional leaders at yesterday’s State of Energy event organized by Greater Spokane Incorporated. It proved to facilitate an important conversation with insights from different perspectives about the future of energy in our region. The Inland Northwest is navigating a period of significant change—growing demand, evolving technologies and increasing expectations related to reliability, affordability and sustainability. These challenges are complex, but they also present an opportunity to work in new, innovative and collaborative ways. What stood out most is the importance of partnership. Progress in the energy industry depends on strong collaboration between utilities, policymakers, businesses and the communities we serve. At Avista, we remain focused on delivering safe, reliable and affordable energy—while preparing for what’s ahead and ensuring the path forward reflects the needs and priorities of our customers and communities. Our linemen and gas servicemen had a great time taking part in Community Heroes on Campus Day at Farwell Elementary in the Mead, WA, school district. Students got to climb on trucks, meet crews and learn about electric and gas safety in a fun, hands-on way. We were proud to be one of many groups joining in the day's festivities, alongside the Spokane County Sheriff's Office, Inland Power & Light Co. and many others. Thank you to Farwell Elementary for welcoming us and helping create a memorable day for students and staff alike.
