Great visiting the UC Santa Barbara San Benito Student Housing project site last week with the Webcor team. When complete in Fall 2027, the 708,482-GSF project will provide 2,100+ student beds along with community amenities, administrative offices, and inviting outdoor spaces. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), the project represents a significant investment in UCSB’s future and long-term student housing needs. Impressive progress by the project team.

As the Los Angeles Times notes, California is at a crossroads in how it secures its water future. SoCal has long depended on imported supplies from the Colorado River and Northern California systems. That model is under increasing pressure. In response, a growing coalition of environmental and conservation groups is pushing for greater regional water self-sufficiency by 2045, centered on recycling wastewater, capturing stormwater, and expanding local groundwater and desalination capacity. Projects like the new water recycling facility at the Donald C. Tillman Water Reclamation Plant in Van Nuys — which Blois Construction, LLC, is proud to help build — demonstrate how wastewater recycling can strengthen long-term local water resilience.
