Fresh air, family, and giving back to our community — it doesn’t get much better than that. This week, our Hingham office garden was buzzing with extra energy for our annual Sprouts for Sprouts family volunteer event! Our associates brought their little ones to work for a fun, hands-on day of harvesting fresh produce, weeding, and mulching. Through our wonderful partnership with The Trustees of Reservations, our employee-maintained garden does more than just beautify our campus. It’s a green initiative that allows us to cultivate organic, nutritious vegetables to support those in need, with all harvests donated directly to the Weymouth Food Pantry to help nourish local families. A huge thank you to our incredible associate volunteers and their hard-working little helpers for making a real impact!

We’re honored to once again receive Accredited status for our Commercial HMO/ POS, PPO, and Exchange plans from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), whose mission is to improve the quality of health care. Their rigorous standards are based on criteria that improve care, enhance service, and reduce costs. “When our members turn to their health plan at some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives, we’re committed to ensuring they get access to clinical care that meets the highest standards. This result reflects that commitment, and is made possible by our strong relationships with our broad network of exceptional clinicians and hospital systems.” - Sarah Iselin, President and CEO, Blue Cross MA Learn More: https://bit.ly/4wl07ZO

In partnership with Massachusetts College of Art and Design and UMass Boston, and as part of our #Boston250 sponsorship with the City of Boston, we launched a contest asking students to create Bluebikes representing their visions for healthier communities and a healthier environment. The winners’ bikes are now rolling through Greater Boston beside our new Blue Cross MA design representing healthier people. Plus, each student won a financial award to support their education and their schools received a donation. Learn more about the design contest at the link below. https://bit.ly/4gtQcfv

This Juneteenth, we’re reflecting on the importance of community, freedom, and collective action. We’re incredibly proud of our Black Professionals Network (BPN) Employee Resource Group for organizing a volunteering project for our associates at Zoo New England's Franklin Park Zoo to honor the day. It was a powerful way to get outside, connect, give back, and celebrate together.
