  • Clear plans matter, but the real magic is making them usable. In this employee spotlight, we’re highlighting one of BHI’s planners who helps communities turn big-picture goals into practical tools for growth, housing, and development. ✨ Employee Spotlight: Derrick Webb, AICP ✨ Derrick Webb, AICP is a Vice President and Senior Planner at BHI with more than 20 years of planning experience across Colorado and New Mexico. His work focuses on helping communities connect long-range vision with the policies, standards, and everyday processes that guide how places grow. Derrick brings a thoughtful, practical approach to comprehensive planning, land development code updates, housing policy, growth management, and improvements to the development review process. He has worked with communities grappling with complex questions about housing affordability, infrastructure needs, economic development, community character, and future growth. With a background that bridges planning, architecture, data, and technology, Derrick adds a well-rounded perspective to every project. His work helps communities move from “what do we want to be?” to “how do we actually get there?” Derrick’s steady, solutions-focused approach continues to strengthen BHI’s planning work and the communities we support across the Rocky Mountain region.

  • 67 years, four offices, and plenty of milestones along the way. Bohannan Huston was founded on July 20, 1959, in Albuquerque. Since then, we’ve grown across New Mexico and Colorado, expanded our teams in Denver and Grand Junction, and recently celebrated a new chapter with the opening of our new Las Cruces office. While our footprint continues to grow, our focus remains the same: great people, strong partnerships, and work that supports the communities we call home. Happy anniversary, BHI. Here’s to 67 years and what comes next.

  • New space, same Las Cruces roots. Last Friday marked an important milestone for Bohannan Huston as our Las Cruces team officially moved into our new office at 2730 Northrise Drive and celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The event brought together staff, family, friends, project partners, and local community leaders to recognize BHI’s continued investment in Las Cruces and southern New Mexico. This new office reflects our long-standing commitment to supporting the communities we serve and providing a strong local home base for our team and clients across the region. We are grateful to HB Construction, along with Architect’s Studio, our project partners, and everyone who helped bring this new office to life. Thank you also to the Greater Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce, Mayor Eric Enriquez, Mayor Pro Tem John Muñoz, and all who joined us to celebrate this milestone. We look forward to this next chapter in Las Cruces and the continued opportunity to serve communities throughout southern New Mexico. • Field visits give early-career team members a real look at project delivery in action. Members of the BHI Construction team recently hosted a group of summer interns for a site visit to the Los Lunas Boulevard Corridor project, providing a firsthand look at an active construction site and the coordination behind a major infrastructure project. During the visit, attendees learned about construction site safety, field observations, project roles, and construction delivery, and met with project team members from BHI, the Village of Los Lunas, and El Terrero Construction. The visit was a great opportunity to connect learning with real-world project experience on a major infrastructure project. Bohannan Huston helped design this interchange and corridor project and is now providing construction management services for the Village of Los Lunas. Thank you to everyone who joined us on this field trip and to the project team for an informative tour! #CareerDevelopment #CivilEngineering #SiteVisit

  • That’s a wrap on the 104th Annual Colorado Municipal League Conference! Bohannan Huston was proud to be a Gold Sponsor and had a wonderful time connecting with municipal leaders, partners, and communities from across Colorado. We enjoyed informative sessions, great conversations, and the chance to spend time with so many people doing meaningful work for their communities. Our exhibit table brought a little extra fun this year with a Build-Your-Own-Minifig station, plus a couple of LEGO set prize drawings. We also had a great evening hosting dinner with clients and team members. Thank you to CML for another great event. We’re already looking forward to next year!
