In our latest Handled It Podcast episode, Ryan Tiller, our Vice President of Distribution & Fleet Services, shares a simple but powerful truth: a board full of metrics doesn't improve performance, and a daily meeting doesn't create results. What matters is whether the team can answer four critical questions: What does winning look like today? What's getting in our way? What are we going to do about it? Who owns the next action? The best tier board meetings aren't reporting sessions. They're decision-making sessions. A great board acts like a scoreboard. It's current, accurate, and visible to everyone. A great huddle turns information into action. And when associates own the process, accountability follows naturally. And here's the craziest part. One of Ryan's success indicators is finding more problems. That doesn't mean your operation is getting worse. Often, it means your team is finally seeing clearly enough to improve.
