Most C&I facilities have already identified their next wave of energy savings. They just haven't acted on them. Across 14 SEM programs and 425 industrial sites, participants identify an average of 40 energy-saving measures per site and complete 16. That's 24 documented, achievable opportunities per facility sitting unused. 82% of completed measures finish within the first year of the site walkthrough, with the fastest implementation in the first 100 days. Programs that maintain that engagement cadence don't just find opportunities. They build the infrastructure to capture them. Everyone talks about energy efficiency. And they should. But if water isn't on your sustainability radar, you're leaving serious money on the table. This #TransformativeTuesday digs into H2O. This week we're spotlighting a transformation by Fresh Coast Climate Solutions parent company, Cascade Energy, working with Bimbo Bakeries USA at their Cicero, Illinois facility. After a facility walkthrough identified eight water efficiency opportunities, the results were remarkable: 28.5% reduction in overall water use, 12.7 million gallons saved per year, and $385,000 in annual cost savings. Let the impact of that sink in for a moment. The secret? Measurement. They couldn't optimize what they weren't tracking. Once Cascade established a baseline, Bimbo's team went to work and the savings compounded across water, wastewater treatment, and energy costs. Most companies have an energy strategy; far fewer have a water strategy, and that's a costly blind spot. Companies report $339 billion in potential financial impacts linked to water-related risks, and the estimated cost to mitigate those risks is just $58.7 billion, a six-to-one return on investment (CDP, 2025). The savings are real, they're material, and they present opportunity for organizations. How is this an opportunity for your business? With a 6:1 ROI ratio, it's hard to argue against investing in water savings.
