About us

Our founder established CCS Inc. in 1993 after realizing the potential of a new technology called light-emitting diodes for industrial automation. LED lights could be designed in various shapes and with different wavelengths, expanding the ways light could be used to create clearer images. With a longer service life and faster emission response time, inspection lines could go faster for longer while still maintaining high accuracy. Today, LED lighting is the preferred lighting source for machine vision, and CCS has been at the forefront of this development by utilizing the data of more than 50,000 images, a lineup of over 2,000 standard products, and our evaluation services to ensure customers find the right lighting solution. Our corporate name, CCS, stands for “Creating Customer Satisfaction” and represents our intention to engage in corporate activities to ensure customer satisfaction through a spirit of “love and appreciation for customers”. As a wholly owned subsidiary of CCS Inc., CCS America, Inc. has the unique position of distributing for three brands in the CCS Group: 1. CCS Inc. 2. EFFILUX 3. Gardasoft Vision Ltd.

  • When choosing a wavelength for an inspection, the useful question is: “𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗮 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗜 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗹𝘀𝗲?” That answer often comes from understanding 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗯𝘀𝗼𝗿𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗰𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 together. The balance depends on the material, the wavelength, surface condition, and incident angle. That wavelength piece matters a lot in machine vision. 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗿𝘆 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆.  ↳ Ultraviolet and visible light are more likely to interact with electronic excitation states in atoms and molecules, which can lead to absorption. 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆.  ↳ Near-infrared light is often scattered less than visible light, so it can pass through certain materials more effectively.   • Line scan imaging has a very obvious way of telling you something is wrong. The image starts to look like a fun house mirror. With area scan, you capture a full frame at once. With line scan, the camera builds the image one line at a time as the part, web, or conveyor moves past the sensor. One thing matters immediately: the camera’s line rate has to match the motion of the application. → When the line rate is too fast, the image shrinks. → When the line rate is too slow, the image can look really long. This is why encoders are so useful in line scan setups. Instead of guessing the line speed or relying on a fixed rate, the encoder gives the camera motion feedback. If the line speeds up, the camera adjusts. If the line slows down, the camera follows.   • Machine vision performance often comes down to two things: Lighting and control. At Automate Show we're demonstrating two applications that have generated a lot of great technical discussions this week. The first features our custom LFXV lighting solution, which combines flat dome illumination with Shape From Shading (SFS) technology to enhance height variations on shiny and curved surfaces. This approach can reveal surface details that are often difficult to detect with conventional lighting methods. Paired with a Gardasoft controller, the system demonstrates how precise timing and illumination control can improve image consistency and inspection reliability. We're also demonstrating our turntable application, which combines controlled lighting and synchronized imaging to capture clear images of moving parts at high speeds. Like the LFXV demo, it relies on a Gardasoft controller to deliver the timing precision and intensity control required for demanding machine vision applications. When engineers evaluate lighting, it's easy to focus on brightness alone. But controller capabilities, synchronization, and repeatability often have just as much impact on the final image.   • One of the most interesting conversations we're having at Automate this week centers around a simple question: What details are you missing with conventional imaging? At Booth 3409, we're demonstrating a hyperspectral imaging system in partnership with Specim that shows how capturing information beyond the visible spectrum can reveal differences in samples that appear identical to standard machine vision systems. We're also showcasing our new and improved Light Wall, where attendees can compare: • Precision vs. flood lighting • Different wavelengths • Line scan lighting solutions • Various light form factors • IP-rated lighting options And if you've walked by our booth, you've probably noticed the air hockey table.
