  • 🚒 Fire Station 17 officially welcomed its new Engine 17 into service today with a traditional push-in ceremony. Vice Mayor Dalton Glasscock and Council Member J.V. Johnston joined Wichita Fire Department firefighters and community members to celebrate this long-standing fire service tradition. Dating back to the days of horse-drawn fire wagons, firefighters would work together to push the apparatus back into the station after returning from a call. Today, that tradition continues as a way to honor the past while celebrating the newest apparatus that will help keep Wichita safe. Congratulations to everyone at Station 17! 👏❤️
