The first public budget hearing for Sedgwick County will be this Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at 6 p.m. in the lower-level auditorium of the Ruffin Building, 100 N. Broadway, Wichita. This is your chance to provide feedback directly to the Board of County Commissioners about the 2027 recommended budget. Can’t make it that evening? There will be a second hearing on August 26, 2026, at 9 a.m. in the same location! Advance in-person voting begins today! For the first time EVER, you can now vote early in-person at three locations. 🗳️Sedgwick County Election Office at 3639 N. Comotara St. 🗳️Sedgwick County Extension Office at 7001 W. 21st St. 🗳️ Advanced Learning Library at 711 W. 2nd St N. Early in-person voting at all three locations is available from July 20-31 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Voting will take place Saturday, August 1, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Library and Extension Office, and Monday, August 3, from 8 a.m.-noon at the Election Office. Putting our skills to the test!📝 Today, Sedgwick County Emergency Management hosted community partners for a training exercise to strengthen relationships for when we're needed most. Local law enforcement agencies, governmental departments and vital nonprofits worked through an exercise to make sure they're ready to respond in the event of a disaster. We're thankful to work alongside organizations dedicated to serving and protecting the public.
