🙌🏾OUT NOW👩🏾 📢 Season 2 · Episode 5 #FootprintsPodcast Series👣 “The challenges that I went through at my prime age are the ones that made me very strong to live up to today.” _ MAXENSIA TAKIRAMBULE NAKIBUUKA Joining us for this deeply personal conversation, Maxensia reflects on a life shaped by love, loss, faith, responsibility and service. She remembers her mother selling matoke to finance her education, pays tribute to the brother who invested in her future before his untimely death and shares the experience of caring for her husband through illness. She also recounts the moment she discovered she was living with HIV. The episode takes listeners into the private conversation that altered the course of her life. Instead of surrendering to fear, Maxensia decided to go back home, raise her children and pursue a future she once believed she might never experience. Over time, that decision led her into political leadership and inspired the founding of Lungujja Community Health Caring Organisation, through which she has supported people and families affected by HIV. Episode 5 reveals how one woman transformed community support into a lifelong commitment to serve others. “My journey has not been straight, but the challenges made me stronger.” _ MAXENSIA TAKIRAMBULE NAKIBUUKA 🎙️ 🎧 🎵 Listen now 🍎Apple podcast🔗: https://lnkd.in/dCUxnRj3 #FootprintsPodcast #Leadership #Legacy #FeministLeadership

Our Cultural Treasure Put art and culture together, and you have me hooked. I am especially captivated when art becomes the medium through which we remember who we are, reclaim what is ours, and rediscover the treasures that have always been around us. I thoroughly enjoyed attending the opening of Fred Mutebi’s Lubugo Renaissance exhibition on 30th July 2026. It was an education in olubugo, a reminder that it is far more than barkcloth. It is ingenuity, identity, memory, resilience, and heritage woven together. What stayed with me most was the invitation to look again. To pay closer attention to what we have inherited. To appreciate the creativity of those who came before us. To recognize that our heritage still has something to teach us. The exhibition is at Bumu Art Gallery for the next two months. If you’re in Kampala, make time to experience it. I think you’ll leave with a renewed appreciation for one for one of Uganda’s most enduring cultural treasures. #OlubugoRenaissance #AfricanArt #OurHeritage

The afternoon of Saturday, 25th July, 2026, found us around Jacqueline Asiimwe as she took us on her colourful journey of life squeezed in just 154 pages of "Facing Mountains" Marketing or promoting books has not been a thing for writers/authors and we have not given a thought to book agents. I do not know any one book agent in Uganda other than retired #WillyKamukama who was Centenary Publishers Agent. I do not know if Mr. Batambuze is a book agent. In the absence of book agent, writers are getting up and doing the job. A few years ago, I met a book agent for Ghanaian author, Lawrence Darmani for the book; #GriefChild. The agent promoted the book in very many secondary schools in Uganda. Today, #GriefChild is a set book on the Ugandan Literature in English syllabus. Jackie is exactly doing what many writers are shy about; meeting their readership and in so doing, promoting their books. There are a number of #BookClubs in Uganda especially, Kampala and then there is #NaalyaBookClub, which, strictly discusses books with the authors. But Ms. Asiimwe is saying something profound in this video. She has a great voice, too. She ought to get us an audio version of #FacingMountains, already. Are you a writer/author or know one whom Naalya Book Club would love to host? Get in touch. WhatsApp me on +256775 414596 or call Allan Odong Okello on +256786542582. You could be or your recommendation may be our next guest, here at #NaalyaMotel. Every Step Matters They are off to Kisoro today for the ninth edition of Hike for Girls. For nine years, this remarkable initiative has brought together people who believe that every girl deserves to manage her menstrual health with dignity. Year after year, they have climbed mountains to raise awareness, challenge stigma, mobilize support, and stand in solidarity with girls across Uganda. But the hike is only part of the story. Over the years, the team has travelled across the country, engaging communities, speaking with cultural and religious leaders, working alongside teachers, providing menstrual health products, and championing the health, dignity, and rights of girls. This morning, I had the honor of flagging off the team as they began this year’s journey to Mount Mgahinga in Kisoro. As they set off, let’s cheer them on. If you are able, consider supporting their work with a financial contribution. Every gift, no matter the size, helps ensure that more girls can stay healthy, stay in school, and pursue their dreams with dignity. Nankunda Hope, thank you for your unwavering leadership, and thank you to Raising Teenagers Uganda: for reminding us, year after year, that some mountains are worth climbing because of the lives waiting on the other side. We wish the entire team a safe climb and every success. #Hike4GirlsUG #MenstrualHealthMatters #PeriodFriendlyWorld Robert Ninyesiga CivLegacy Foundation

🙌🏾 Every meaningful journey begins with someone believing it is worth taking. 💚 Today our CEO, Jacqueline Asiimwe Mwesige flagged off the Hike for Girls delegation as they set out on their journey to Kisoro, carrying backpacks, hiking boots, and something far heavier and far more powerful: a shared commitment to girls and the futures they deserve. Tomorrow, they will climb a mountain. Today, they already took the harder step, choosing to show up, to walk together, and to stand for something greater than themselves. Every summit starts at the bottom. Every movement starts with people willing to take the first step, together. This delegation carries belief, purpose and the hopes of every girl this journey stands for. Wishing the team safe travels, strong legs and an unforgettable journey ahead. 🥾⛰️💚 Raising Teenagers Uganda: Uganda Red Cross Society #hikeforgirlsug

🪞 Mirror
Sometimes people can't see their own potential until someone else reflects it back to them.
💬 A word of belief at the right moment. Being told "you're capable of this" by someone who actually means it. Having someone notice a strength you didn't know you had.
🤲🏾 You don't have to give someone something new. Sometimes you just have to show them what was already there.
❓ Who has been a mirror for you, and who could you be one for?
🙌🏾Choose your word. Live it well. Share it forward.
