Updates

  • Your post interview follow up can make a real difference in a competitive job market. Candidates who stay visible are more likely to stand out. The key is knowing what to say and when to say it… • It’s appropriate to follow up on an application if you haven’t heard back within a few days. • A brief message expressing interest and confirming your application was received is enough. o For example: “I wanted to follow up on my application and express my continued interest in the role. I’d welcome the opportunity to discuss how my experience aligns with your needs.” • Follow up after an interview is expected and presents a strong impression. A short thank-you email should include appreciation for the interviewer’s time, a reference to the conversation, and reaffirmation of your interest. o For example: “Thank you for taking the time to speak with me. I enjoyed learning more about the team and the role, and I’m excited about the opportunity to contribute.” • In some cases, text or voicemail may be appropriate. Keep your message clear, polite, and concise. State your name, the reason for your message, and your continued interest. Avoid over-communicating, but don’t hesitate to check in if you’re waiting on next steps. • Follow up 2–3 days after applying, within 24 hours after an interview, and again about a week later if you haven’t received an update. This keeps you visible without creating pressure. Visit us online for additional #CareerTips.

  • Conflicting truths in hiring: more applications do not make it easier, and the candidate experience remains an advantage. Recent workforce research shows recruiters are managing larger candidate pools and increasing use of AI tools to identify qualified talent. However, candidates cite lengthy and unclear hiring processes as a major frustration. Clear communication, timely feedback, and efficient decision-making helps prevent top talent from accepting opportunities elsewhere. How is your organization balancing efficiency with a positive candidate experience? Share in comments. Curated content from #CornerStoneProfessionalPlacement.

  • As AI automates more routine tasks, employers place greater value on skills that technology cannot easily replicate. Recent research found growing demand for capabilities such as judgment, leadership, adaptability, creativity, and communication. In fact, many AI-exposed roles are seeing faster growth and higher wages than roles with less AI impact. For leaders, this reinforces the importance of hiring and developing professionals who can think critically, solve problems, and lead through change. What human skill(s) do you believe will be most valuable over the next three years? Curated content from #CornerStoneProfessionalPlacement
