This year, Biohacking Village at DEF CON is placing more than $4 billion in medical technology within reach of independent security researchers - not after an incident, but before vulnerabilities become patient-safety events. The Device Lab will include: 🦴 Surgical navigation, robotics, and real-time AI 💉 Insulin delivery and diabetes-data platforms 🩻 PET/CT, MRI, and ultrasound systems 🧬 Clinical diagnostic and qPCR technology 🫀 Pre-market cardiac platforms 💊 Automated medication-dispensing systems 🩹 Wound-therapy and sterilization-assurance devices 📈 Hemodynamic and networked patient monitors Security by design means inviting scrutiny early. It means moving beyond checkbox compliance. It means manufacturers and hackers working side by side with product-security teams present to triage findings and coordinate responsible disclosure.
