4th of July is here, but don't forget to protect yourself from the sun. 🕶️ July marks the beginning of UV Awareness Month, making the holiday weekend a great time to highlight the negative impact uv exposure can have towards your health. Rising temperatures and stronger uv rates increase the risk of sun damage, which overtime can contribute to serious diseases such as melanoma. While you are out celebrating this weekend, there are several ways that you can reduce your risk. Tools like the UV index can help determine the best times to seek shade and put on sunscreen. During peak uv hours, such as 10am-2pm, consider limiting exposure by staying in the shade, wearing lots of sunscreen, and choosing dark, woven clothes that provide additional protection against the sun's harmful rays. ☀️Soak up the sun but stay hydrated! With 5 million people in attendance during this year's World Cup and millions more traveling to enjoy the peak tropical vacation weather, spending extended periods in the direct Summer sun is expected. Your body is composed of about 60% of water. Being squished amongst thousands of people in a stadium, waiting in long lines, relaxing on hot beaches, and any other physical activity can deplete the fluids in your body quicker than you think. Staying hydrated during this time is incredibly important for your heart, immune system, and overall health. Do not wait until you are completely parched; when you are thirsty, that is a sign your body needs to replenish itself from loss of water. The simplest thing to do during this Summer to maintain hydration is to keep a water bottle with you.🫗 Read more here: https://lnkd.in/g7kmGkyr #StayHydrated #WorldCup2026 #SummerTravel #WellnesswithWitman #PreventiveCare #GlobalHealth #HealthEducation

For the month of June, we celebrate Men's Health Month to raise awareness about improving the health and well-being of men and boys.
