Happy 250th, America! 🇺🇸 Two hundred fifty years ago, the idea of defeating a swarm of drones with a high-power microwave system would have sounded like witchcraft. The pace of change in defense technology has compressed what used to take decades into years, and capabilities like high-power microwave that were theoretical for most of our Nation’s history are now operational realities. That innovative leap says as much about American ingenuity as anything else we’ll celebrate this Fourth of July. The founders bet on a country that could out-invent anyone. Two and a half centuries later, that's still the bet we're making.

Greece sits at one of the most consequential intersections in the world: geographically and geopolitically. On both sides of the Atlantic, the drone threat has become more sophisticated, more accessible and more urgent. To discuss the capabilities needed to meet this challenge across NATO states, we welcomed officials from the Hellenic Ministry of National Defence to Epirus HQ. The Leonidas HPM platform scales to defeat large volumes of electronic threats simultaneously, and at a cost that enables sustained critical point defense operations. Conversations like this are how the alliance adapts. And, yes, our Greek-inspired company name may have come up, too!

Yesterday, Epirus high-power microwave was demonstrated to U.S. Secretary of War Hegseth & Office of the Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering. Defeating saturation swarm attacks requires systems capable of engaging multiple targets simultaneously. Epirus HPM does just that: its one-to-many capability pairs low-cost, low-collateral effects with an unlimited magazine to defeat swarms, fast-moving and fiber-optic-guided drones. HPM is effective, proven and ready to deploy at scale as part of a layered defense architecture.

The highest hurdle in defense tech isn't proving the technology works. It's scaling it. As we move into a new phase of operational growth, we're pleased to welcome two leaders who have built at this level before: Mark Cuyler as Chief Operating Officer and Mark Horton as Chief People Officer. Mark Cuyler has spent his career turning advanced technology programs into production realities at Saildrone, Amazon, Tesla and General Motors. Mark Horton has built people functions at some of the most innovative companies in the world, including Magic AI, SpaceX, Noom and Citadel. Welcome aboard, Mark & Mark.

Epirus reposted this
Directed energy is rapidly moving from niche capability to scalable operational necessity. As threats become cheaper, faster, and more autonomous, the ability to deliver low-cost, high-volume defense at speed is becoming a critical part of the future force. From counter-UAS to layered air and missile defense, scaled directed energy is reshaping how the Department of War thinks about deterrence, sustainment, and cost-per-engagement in contested environments.

The U.S. defense industrial base was built for a different era. Asymmetric, autonomous, saturation Sixth Domain threats don't wait for five-year acquisition cycles. The fix? Neo-Prime + OEM partnerships where scale meets speed and innovation meets integration. With three mobile counter-UAS systems introduced in as many years, Epirus + General Dynamics Land Systems are proof of this partnership blueprint in action. Leonidas “will change the face of drone warfare completely. It is a game-changer that will cripple the ability of bad actors to use drones." Andy Lowery joined The Shawn Ryan Show for an unfiltered conversation on his journey from Navy nuke to Neo-Prime CEO, the history of Epirus and the inner workings of the Leonidas high-power microwave platform. Come for real-life forcefield talk. Stay for exclusive footage of Leonidas AGV, a drone warfare state-of-play — and much more. Full episode linked in comments.

Speed offers no sanctuary for drones operating against Leonidas' electromagnetic interference. Leonidas defeats fast-moving drone targets with high-power microwave energy enabled by its active electronically scanned array, high-speed gimbaling and real-time targeting software. Rapid maneuvers and complex flight patterns are no match for software-defined HPM.
