  • For our Road Team Captains, going the extra mile is second nature.  Alongside their regular routes, this group of model drivers represents FedEx Freight at public events from coast to coast. Over the course of a two-year term, they engage with tens of thousands of students, parents, senior citizens, law enforcement officers, government officials, and transportation professionals to share about our industry and spread safety awareness on the road.  You’ll see them at:  ✔️ Share-the-road presentations ✔️ Touch-a-truck events ✔️ Equipment demonstrations to law enforcement ✔️ American Trucking Associations and state association events ✔️ FedEx Freight events and demonstrations ✔️ And wherever safety calls So, whether they serve on their state Road Teams, America’s Road Team, or on the FedEx Freight Road Team, they’re always out there showing the world what we do and how we do it – and that’s something worth celebrating. 👏

  • With the National Truck Driving Championships only weeks away, our 111 competing drivers are busy running routes and hitting the books – and the Captain Smith Challenge is their last stop before they head to Pittsburgh.  Named after our late founder Fred Smith, the Captain Smith Challenge is our drivers’ chance to simulate courses, practice skills tests, and celebrate safety with the other FedEx Freight drivers. They not only get a preview of what NTDC has to hold, but it’s also a chance to collect tips from past champions.  We’re proud to see what our state champs bring to the table, and we can’t wait to see who takes home a national title. Good luck, drivers!

  • Let’s track an LTL shipment from Raleigh, N.C., to Gardena, Calif.  Through our end-to-end network, we ship FedEx Freight® Priority cross-country in just 1-3 days. For FedEx Freight® Economy shipments, delivery is typically between 3-6 days.  Operationally, this one-network system balances truckload and multimodal transport to optimize speed and efficiency – all while limiting freight handling.  It’s all in a day’s work, but our people keep it running. Check out the video to watch how our system operates.

  • Alright, team. It’s time for another #SafetyFirst tip. Tip: Always use three points of contact when climbing on or off equipment ✅ Any on-the-job action that requires you to climb, step up or down, or transition between levels requires three points of contact to prevent falls. That means when stepping onto your forklift, climbing into your cab, or exiting your trailer, use two hands and one foot or two feet and one hand before moving the fourth point of contact. Falls are one of the most common and most preventable injuries. Let’s practice good form so we can get you home safe.

  • In our world, every month is #NationalSafetyMonth. Touch-a-truck events carry that mindset out of our service centers and straight to the motoring public.  By visiting our local communities and letting families see a tractor-trailer up close, our drivers spread road safety awareness across the nation.  When you attend an event, you’re invited to climb into the cab of a truck, see the road from a driver’s perspective, and ask our professional drivers about their experiences. That direct interaction makes so many people feel more comfortable around 18-wheelers – and more informed drivers make safer roadways for us all. 🤝

  • You may not see them during pickup and delivery, but our 1600+ Fleet Maintenance Technicians keep our mission moving every day. For #NationalTechnicianAppreciationWeek, we’re proud to share one of their stories.  We interviewed Ryan DeBoth, Senior Technician in Green Bay, Wisconsin. And if you see a Technician today, don’t forget to give them a pat on the back.

  • If you’re a member of the team, you know one thing for sure. Safety always comes first. We’re kicking off our first post as an independent company the same way we start any meeting, from the service center to the corporate office: with a safety message.  #1: Always complete a pre-trip inspection before you hit the road. Before they ever get behind the wheel, our drivers perform a routine pre-trip inspection to confirm the safety of their vehicle. This first line of defense helps prevent on-road breakdowns, avoid costly repair bills, and maintain strict compliance with both regulatory requirements and company policies. It just makes “Safety Sense,” and it is an important part of keeping our drivers and the motoring public safe on the roadways.
