We are honored to receive this recognition for the Hawai‘i Baptist Academy Innovation and Discovery Center! Thank you to HBA and our project partners for the opportunity to create spaces that inspire learning, discovery, and connection.

When thoughtful design reflects its surroundings, learning becomes an experience. Congratulations to G70, winner of the 2026 ALA/IIDA Library Interior Design Competition in the Under 30,000 sq. ft. category for the Hawai‘i Baptist Academy Innovation and Discovery Center. Designed to enhance Hawai‘i Baptist Academy's elementary school campus, the project introduces a vibrant new library alongside flexible classrooms, a maker lab, enhanced outdoor play spaces, and an improved arrival experience all while honoring the campus's historic character and lush landscape. As juror Emily Stampanato, NCIDQ shared, "The biophilic connection lands through materiality and organic references rather than literal imagery, creating a quietly immersive link to the surrounding landscape." We were honored to attend the historic blessing of the state’s very first public high school health learning lab at Waianae High School. This incredible facility, part of the Aulama I Ke Ola initiative, will provide students with the real-world skills needed for a successful career in healthcare. We are proud to lend our support to this HAH-led initiative alongside other Hawaii funders who also contributed to its success. With nearly 4,700 healthcare job openings statewide, this lab is a crucial step in building a stronger, healthier Hawaii. Mahalo to Governor Josh Green and the Healthcare Association of Hawaii @hahhawaii for their incredible leadership in bringing this vision to life. Let’s celebrate this amazing milestone!

Spaces evolve with purpose, guided by thoughtful design and renewed intent.   G70 is transforming a long-standing campus building at the University of Hawaiʻi Maui College into the future Heona Art Center, a new home for the Department of Fine Arts.   Currently in development, the project has been shortlisted in the Future Projects – Education category for the World Architecture News 2026 Awards. The 7,000 sf renovation reimagines a former Physical Education Building as a light-filled, naturally ventilated environment envisioned as a creative hub for UH Maui College and the broader community.   We are honored to see this work recognized on the international stage as we continue to engage in meaningful design that creates hope for future generations.   #WorldArchitectureNews #WANAwards2026 #FutureProjects #EducationDesign #G70Design

We are deeply saddened to share that our founder, Francis S. Oda, went home to be with the Lord peacefully on February 14, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. For more than 50 years, Francis shaped G70 and Hawaiʻi’s built environment with vision, humility and faith. His legacy lives on in the communities we serve and the many lives he touched. Our heartfelt love and condolences go out to the Oda ʻOhana. We are grateful for your thoughts and prayers during this time. Love isn’t limited to one kind of relationship. It is also about the places we invest in. Through G70’s work on Kūlanihākoʻi High School, the campus was designed to support connection, collaboration, and community. Thoughtful planning, site design, and spatial organization demonstrate how intentional design can influence the way students learn, engage, and experience their environment. This project reflects the role that well-considered educational design plays in shaping meaningful and connected learning spaces. Supporting women and girls in science begins with access, encouragement, and environments that enable exploration. On International Day of Women and Girls in Science, we recognize that opportunity is shaped not only by education, but by the spaces where learning and research take place. Thoughtful design helps create environments where inquiry, collaboration, and discovery can thrive.
