  • Partnerships are built through collaboration and ongoing education. Last week, Todd our VP of Client Services provided an in-service on Medela Negative Pressure Wound Therapy for the clinical team at Brothers of Mercy. Training opportunities like these help ensure healthcare professionals have the knowledge and support they need to confidently use the equipment in patient care. Thank you to the team at Brothers of Mercy for the opportunity to collaborate. #HealthSystemServices #HealthcareLeadership #ClinicalEducation #WoundCare #Partnerships Medela & The Brothers of Mercy Wellness Campus

  • Every business starts somewhere. Thirty years ago, this warehouse was where Health System Services began building the foundation for what the company is today. We're proud to look back on those early days and the people who helped us along the way. Take a look at this glimpse into our history. #HealthSystemServices #30Years #Healthcare #Leadership

In 1996, Health System Services operated out of the basement and garage of our home in Lewiston. As we began to grow, we needed warehouse space and somewhere to work.  That's when Bob and Mike Agnello stepped in. They gave us space in their warehouse and told us not to worry about the rent. "We'll figure it out," they said. Eventually, they offered us the mezzanine level of the warehouse for our offices. Calling it a "mezzanine" probably makes it sound nicer than it was. It was hot in the summer, cold in the winter, very dusty, and far from glamorous. While they gave us the space, we needed to build the offices. So, we built some walls, ran the electrical outlets and installed some counter tops for places to work.  Those offices were built with the help of my dear friend John Dowd (who later came to work at HSS for 25 years and has since retired), my brother-in-law James Spanbauer, and my father-in-law Richard Montanari. They gave their time, their talent, and their encouragement when we needed it most. Looking back, I've realized something. Businesses aren't built because someone has the perfect building or the perfect business plan. They're built because of entrepreneurs’ perseverance and persistence; and good people are willing to help someone else get started.  Thirty years later, I'm still grateful to Bob and Mike Agnello, John Dowd, James Spanbauer, Richard Montanari, and everyone else who believed in us long before Health System Services became what it is today. You never forget the people who gave you a place to begin. Below is a 5 sec clip of our 1st warehouse space. #Gratitude #Leadership #SmallBusiness #Entrepreneurship #HealthSystemServices #30Years #EPICvalues #Empathy #Passion #Integrity #Commitment

  • Thirty years ago, Health System Services made its very first delivery. What started as a leap of faith has grown into three decades of serving patients, healthcare providers, and communities across New York. Our CEO recently shared the story behind those early days and the people whose support helped make Health System Services what it is today. Take a moment to watch the video and hear how it all began. Thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey over the past 30 years. #HealthSystemServices #30Years #Healthcare #Leadership #HomeCare

This post is a few days late. Better late than never. Thirty years ago, on June 28, 1996, Health System Services made its first delivery. Two months earlier, on April 30, 1996, I had separated from my employer. Kristy and I had two young boys at home, another baby on the way, and more uncertainty than answers. The two of us were left to figure it out. Getting a job was the top priority until our dear friend and client said, "start your own business" .  Health System Services wasn't born from a grand vision of building a company. It was born from necessity. From the encouragement of people who believed in us more than we believed in ourselves. And a deep faith in God.  We incorporated on May 9, 1996. Fifty days later, we made our first delivery. Looking back, what I remember most isn't the delivery itself. It's the people who helped make it possible. Family members who lent money without thinking twice.  Friends who offered warehouse space before we could afford rent. Clients who trusted a start-up with no track record. And a wife who never once questioned whether we should keep going. Thirty years later, I'm reminded that businesses are not just built by entrepreneurs. They're built and supported by families, friends and communities. Over the next several weeks, I'd like to share some of the stories and people who helped shape Health System Services. Today, my heart is simply filled with gratitude. We have been truly blessed.  Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey.  Happy 4th of July! That's me making our very first delivery, June 28, 1996. Servicing our first patients. #EPICValues #Empathy #Passion #Integrity #Committment #NYSHFA #AAHomecare

  • Great patient care depends on great preparation. Delivering dependable home medical equipment takes more than a final delivery, it takes organized inventory, quality processes and a team committed to getting every detail right. Behind every order is a group of professionals working to ensure healthcare providers, caregivers and patients receive the support they need, when they need it. Operational excellence isn't always visible, but it's an essential part of delivering exceptional patient care. #HealthcareOperations #PatientCare #OperationalExcellence #HealthSystemServices #HealthcareLeadership

  • Every patient has different goals, challenges and daily routines. That's why finding the right solution starts with listening, not simply choosing a product. At Health System Services, our team takes the time to understand each individual's needs, answer questions and help patients and caregivers explore solutions that fit their lifestyle. Whether someone is preparing to return home after a hospital stay or looking for additional support to remain independent, personalized guidance plays an important role in helping them make informed decisions with confidence. It's not just about providing equipment, it's about providing the right support at the right time. #PatientExperience #HealthcarePartnerships #ContinuityOfCare #HealthcareLeadership #HealthSystemServices
