Congratulations to RI Bio member Hiba Therapeutics Inc. and RI Bio Founders Academy participant on being named the 2026 North American Advance Biotech Grant winner by MilliporeSigma at the 2026 BIO International Convention! This prestigious award recognizes Shariq Usmani and Hiba Therapeutics Inc.' innovative TROIKA T Cell Engagers platform, a next-generation biologics approach designed to selectively activate tumor-resident T cells to target solid tumors while limiting systemic toxicity. The platform has the potential to address significant unmet needs across multiple cancer indications, including lung, colorectal, pancreatic, head and neck cancers, and pediatric glioblastoma. As part of the grant, Hiba Therapeutics will gain access to MilliporeSigma's advanced technologies, process development expertise, manufacturing support, and regulatory resources to help accelerate the development and scale-up of its groundbreaking platform. We attended our first ever BIO International Convention, thanks to MilliporeSigma, and we are still buzzing. More than that, we are honored to receive the MilliporeSigma Advance Biotech Grant. This award is a testament to MilliporeSigma leadership’s vision to create, enable, and steer bold science. To Sebastián Arana A. and the entire team: thank you. The recognition means far more to us than the dollar value it carries. We are thrilled to join the broader Merck Life Science, EMD Serono, Inc., and MilliporeSigma ecosystem, and to learn from institutional knowledge in drug development and manufacturing that spans not just years or decades, but more than three centuries. Thank you MilliporeSigma team, including Sebastián Arana A., Melissa Mitchell, Albert S. Reger, Ph.D. Joice Kanefsky, PhD (many congratulations agains, Joice), Brandon Solis, Julianne Truong, Tyler Gagnon and so many others. Too many patients ultimately lose that fight, either because the cancer becomes resistant or because the chemo itself becomes too toxic to continue. We are building Hiba Therapeutics to change that. Through its TROIKA platform, Hiba Therapeutics is advancing a targeted approach designed to activate tumor-resident T cells, with the potential to address key challenges in solid tumor treatment while helping reduce systemic toxicity.
