I've spent most of my posts here talking about our hardware. The radars, the form factor, the power draw. That's half the story. This video covers the other half. At MatrixSpace, the software isn't a layer we added on top of the radar. It's a core reason the radar(s) works the way it does. Two pieces of software do the work. AiEdge runs on the system itself. It fuses multiple radars and sensor types into one track and drops the nuisance detections before they ever reach an operator. AiCloud links those sensors together, so a border or a stadium reads as one picture instead of forty separate feeds. A drone is a small, slow target in a cluttered sky. It was a privilege to represent the U.S. military at this recent drone warfare dialogue, including discussion about countering drones, that brought together representatives across government, industry, and academia. As National Real Time Crime Center recognition week concludes, I want to take a moment to acknowledge our incredible staff and their accomplishments. This year is particularly special as we just finalized moving into our new Police Operations Building and Real Time Crime Center facility in the last few weeks (old and new RTCC room photos included). A special thanks goes to the City of Campbell, CA IT team, and PD IT administrator Huu Tran, along with our Public Works Department (Signals and Lighting and Building Department teams). This interdepartmental collaboration has been essential in supporting and installing the infrastructure that enables our real-time response to crime. I also want to express gratitude to the men and women of the Campbell Police Department, including our dispatchers who utilize these tools daily to enhance our response and combat crime, the officers who adapt to new approaches and maximize these resources and the DFR pilots who have transformed our response to crime with drones over the last three years. I appreciate Jennifer Kenton, ENP, CMCP, James Cooper, and David Cameron for their critical roles in making all of this possible and for their efforts in deploying this technology. Special thanks to Chief Gary Berg for his forward thinking and support of these initiatives every day. Drone incursions delivering contraband into prisons remain a persistent security challenge in the UK, with officials at HMP Wandsworth saying organized groups continue using unmanned aerial systems to smuggle drugs, mobile phones and other prohibited items into the facility. The issue was highlighted during a visit by UK Justice Secretary and Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy and former Home Secretary Amber Rudd, who has been appointed to lead an independent six-month review of the prison system. https://lnkd.in/e8bWbv6Z

A new report from the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) has concluded that Russian drones are likely being used to survey UK military airbases as part of what it describes as the Kremlin’s broader unconventional campaign against Europe. According to the authors, the surveillance of British military sites was “highly likely” conducted using drones launched from vessels linked to Russia’s shadow fleet. https://lnkd.in/ew5mJGYA
