Who says safe streets can’t also be fun? In Miami, a pop-up bike lane project created a safe route to school and showed biking is an option kids want to choose. The project, a partnership between the UHealth BikeSafe Program and Miami-Dade County Public Schools, was made possible by a Road to Zero Community Traffic Safety Grant. In addition to the bike lane, traffic calming measures and new pedestrian crossings helped reduce vehicle drop-off traffic by 34%. Funded by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration NHTSA, the Road to Zero Community Traffic Safety Grants, https://lnkd.in/gvQp8tQN, provide support to initiatives finding innovative solutions to eliminate preventable traffic deaths. #10YearsofRTZ #RoadToZero
